Well, here i am again beta testing this game, as i did with the first COH.

Here are my thoughts

From my few games online, i find the "new" gameplay just GREAT.

Playing as British mainly, i love the new game style. We still have buildings, as i like in an RTS, but the "mass units" is gone...

I find myself advancing, holding the line to get reenforcementes, then pushing again till i beat the enemy (if i dont get wasted in the process)

the massing of troops and tanks are more rare, at least on some maps, and the general combat is a true and great experience.

The British play style is great, i love the defenses, AT gun is awsome, audio is great too, and the gliders are amasing....

These new sides are more tactical, and micromanaging experiences, that complete the old ones. No more "standard" unit types, we get basic troops, that we can upgrade.

Played Panzer Elite, but i find their play style confusing, and not as cool as the British one... (altough i did not gave it more than 1 chance, i feel 1 tutorial for EACH new side is needed here)

I am a Comp Stomp player, so i would like to see some coop scenarios, or campaign. Dunno if it is planned, but it would be a great addon for this game.

Panzer elite is ackward, and i will still play Wehrmahct, the British are IMBA, and i simply refuse playing as them.

British are not OP! England just makes them naturally ownage against every other country! =P

(guess where I'm from! :P )

Yeah the PE overall are a pretty big dissapointment. The British are alright, but the Wermacht and Americans still own both of them. At least it will add some variety.

PE are fine. You just have to know how to use them. Stop being noobs and all going for the Jagdpanther. Its only good in one situation, otherwise the other trees are there for a reason, and they rock.

You guys should try the scorched earth doctrine for PE. It's starting ablities aren't so useful early on but the end ones are simply AWESOME! I recommend you try a Hummel and see if you still hate the PE xD

The game's future doesn't look great tbh. The new teams are going to require tons of balance changes and the game comes out in november. Starting with a 120mp unit (a pioneer) against a 400somethingMP unit with a recon upgrade (british) is gonna be absolutely horrible. Especially considering he'll have a second tommy fielded by the time your WQ goes UP let alone you start producing volks or an MG.

I beat a british player using wehrmacht as they seemed to not be able to counter the MG42 in a building. I think the british are strong in infantry based combat early but don't have much by way of garrison clearing unless i'm mistaken. Only played a few games as them so far. Also early MP40 volks can decimate their squads and they are veryyy costly to build and reinforce.

That's why tommies cost 450 manpower. The second tommy squad requires a LT or it can't do anything on a mostly uncapped map.

Moving to the Opposing Fronts Beta Forum,

Also Pruned a few posts.

For those people who think the NDA is still open; The closed beta NDA lasts 3 years. The Open beta is free to the public, hope over to fileplanet and see.

Rifle grenades can clear garrison fairly well. And with vet 1 LT and heroic charge the brits can charge garrissoned 42 head on and shoot it to death.

Looks like someone here has the right idea

Panzer Elite is awkward? These lasts few days, when I've really got into playing them, PE feels more and more like Werh, with PG playing the role of all Werh infantry.

British defense is epic lulz. Its nearly impossible to break without a howitzer/hummel.

Marder and mortars do a good job. Personally I hate turtling and is sole reason why I can't stand British.

Had a few games and gotten to mostly like it.

I reckon brits encourage attack from the seasoned axis players who know better, other wise good luck trying to get through the wall of defenses set up after leaving em even for just a few minutes.

Not that I think it's impossible to break a british defensive but it calls for constant pressure from the axis.

Not really fond of the brits as it centres around boring emplacements and the predictable howitzer spam but the commandoes option is alright.

Panzer Elite on the other hand are far more interesting, solid infantry, crazy good tank hunters, individual upgrades and vet options. What's not to like ! (well maybe the paratroopers doc is kinda weak).

Anyhow, my 2 cents.

I absolutely love the british style of play. Its soo hard to get a little ground, then you fortify that area like mad! I only wish that rifle grenades weren't so bad! The AT gun is amazing at annihilating tanks, and the howitzer is equally amazing at destroying bases and troops! I am dissapointed in the PE as it is very hard to learn, and all the HT's seem pointless. I wish there was a tutorial for the BETA (hopefully there will be one for the actual game release). It seems i never have the right HT and end up spamming mortar halftracks! Anyways the jagdpanther is the end-all to allied armor as well as the entire tank hunter doctrine. You want a counter to AWM, well you got it! If you keep destroying their tanks AWM wont be necessary. Tankhunter squads for only 350 MP (NO MUNITIONS!) is a very nice touch. However deploy marksman can take out 1/3 of a PG or 1/2 of a Pio squad, a little unfair. But the british only have 4 different infantry (vanilla, no doctrines) so the variety is lacking and therefore easier to beat. Anyhow, are tommies better up close or far away, thats really my only question.

I think the Wehrmacht would've been screwed vs. the British without the Mortar and Stuka fix and a buff to the Nebel.

How manny games did you play ? Judgeging from 5 games and than making only posts that call imba is just...lol. :donny:

Honestly..play more. The Brits can be beaten, you just have to know how. :p

The Brits can be fun. But my favorite is definatly a 2vs2 with Wehrmacht and PE vs. Brits/USofA. Ever saw a tiger and a TigerII alongside some KCH and vet3 MP44 pzGrens ?....they rock...

Love OF. I have a lot of fun playing Brits and although PE was confusing at first, they're nice to play now too.

I like the new factions too.. But playing against Brits as Wehrmacht is really, really annoying. He can pretty much freely move his trucks early on, because Volksgrenadiers can't harm them. And that Bren Carrier, when you finally get it almost killed, it just refuses to die even when I had 2 squads of Volks and MG42 shooting at it, while it just sat on middle of road while shooting back.

Sorry for make this sound like a rant, but I hate the idea of always playing 45min matches against Brits as WM where staying still means your troops getting killed, even if I didn't get OF right away.
