So, i downloaded the beta of fileplanet, i was hyped to finally try it, what happens is this:

An Error ocurred while installing the windows installer package

If you cannot resolve this problem, please contact THQ technical support. (Error code 10212:00000064c (MsiInstallProductW returned 00000064c: Installationsource for this product is not available. Controll that the source is there and you can "reach" it.

Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.

I have downloaded this file around 7 times from fileplanet, i am a bit irritated because i want to try it out :( Can someone help me please?

What i have tried to do so i could fix it:
The CMD

you might have to run it from the command prompt as an administrator

I'm getting the same error as well and my PC is far above the minimal requirements, I have administrator rights on Windows XP and everything which I went searching for what could be wrong and found nothing which would explain the problem for me and stuff. I'm going to keep searching around and stuff cause I want to play the open beta since I got a key for it and would be a shame to waste it.

Heck if I found out what the problem is and stuff I'll post it up in this thread unless I can get it in the FAQ.

Regards,
IH

Did it leave the msi behind after you finished the install? What happens when you run the msi that the installer left there? (Either by double-clicking it, or by running "msiexec /i full-path-to-vcredist-installer.msi" from the command line.)

No worries guys, i have fixed it! I sent the install to my dad's computer, he installed and booted it up, and then i sent the installed folder to mine :D ( Do not worry relic, my dad hates RTS games so he did not get ahold of my cd-key )

Interesting. If it runs, that means the VC runtime update which is claiming to fail either wasn't needed on your computer, or installed without returning success. Hmmmmmm. This is all so distressing.
