Arnhem: The Last Bridge
2nd Battalion of the British 1st Airborne Division controls the bridge in Arnhem. The 9th SS Panzer Division has failed to retake it. With heavy tank support, Kampfgruppe Lehr must take back the bridge.

The King Tiger is too good... Even if you lose it you can just Bergetiger it.. This level even on expert is stupidly easy :-)

Agreed - the AI is poor here as it is on OF generally. Parked the KT and an AT at one end of the bridge, 30 Corps trundle over, get bunched up and are slaughtered.

At the topof the map, near one of the British AT guns to the right, are a German tank and a halftrack-can they be commandeered?

I THINK that yes they can, simply by capturing the nearby munitions point.

Nope, I even tried using a repair tank on them. If they take damage from your arty you can repair them, but they still remain neutral.
And the British dialog on this mission is pretty funny too.

Odd, because I'm 100% sure i ended up with them on my side.. KT nearby perhaps? I don't remember what I did, but i definitely had that halftrack..

That everyone always gets slaughtered the first ten seconds...

E-E-Exactly! And this has been affecting the men's morale a tadge so High command was looking for a way to cheer them up in preparation for the Big Push!

I had to laugh at the ending there. When the Commando stopped and blew some smoke. Then after he was told to keep walking, the younger German brother said, "Strange, I think I've seen him somewhere before..."
It's the same Commando that picked up a cigarette in the beginning of the third mission of the British Campaign! :D

Completed this mission easily, previous posters are correct this mission is a bit of a pushover, my tactics may be a little to restrained for some so I apologise in advance. As a player I like missions where I have time to prepare, reinforce and move out. I have found the Panzer Elite missions a little different as you really are a fast moving offensive force that does not ‘dig in’ and defend.
I played this with caution as I was afraid I would loose my new toy the ‘King Tiger’. As many of you now know doing what you are ‘ordered’ to do can mean you are not prepared when you set off a ‘trigger’ point. I built up a small force and cleared the cross-roads in front of base (AT Gun and infantry). It’s interesting to see that whilst you are fighting these troops many of there colleagues are surrendering and walking towards you. I occupied some buildings near HQ as you are ambushed a few times so it is good to protect your resources. Indeed, one ambush was a group of jeeps coming from the right!
The primary objective is to secure the two roads and you get a secondary objective of capturing and holding munitions stores (2). My tactic was to take all of the points around me except the two road strategic points (in case they triggered an event). My force was several squads of PG, an infantry halftrack, a mortar halftrack with munitions support and my armour; I used scout halftracks to take points and sat these near the primary points ready to take them when ordered. I took the point in front of HQ and the one in the gardens to the right I then cleared the road up to the roadblock (on the road in front of HQ) I did not breech the road block (just in case!). I now moved left towards the munitions store and river taking points (except the primaries) as I cleared the streets (beware of snipers and troops in buildings with AT weapons). I often used my mortar with munitions support; some troops just surrender when you start firing! You have to be careful when you take the munitions point as you will receive a lot of visitors, many armed with AT weapons!! There is also a Flak 88 (near the river) that is in range and is being used against you! You do need a strong defence here. I had a squad take over a ‘neb’ here which helped stop the 88.
I then moved to take the points right up to the river and you are given the task of destroying the barges (3 or 4). I used the neb and mortar which were in a protected area near the river. Some troops do protect the river but they do not like tank fire or being burned! I tried to use the 88 but lost it as I missed some troops in hiding. I now occupied everything south of the road onto the bridge. I now moved to take the second munitions store north (at the top right) there is an 88 here. I love using goliaths and found that there is a blind spot that leads to the 88 on the road on the right edge of the map. I used some mortars to burn some resistance on the grassy hillside and then sneaked a couple of goliaths supported by neb fire to remove resistance on the hill. I then assaulted the hill and the church where there is a garrisoned force and took the munitions point. Not sure now of the exact sequence of events but think this triggered the need to capture the bridge and I also took the two roads which got me reinforcements including a Hummel. There are two bunkers on the road before the bridge and you are attacked by tanks but it is ill matched to your considerable amour. Several buildings are garrisoned on either side of the road onto the bridge and there is an 88 on the bridge near the objective which I think took out a tank before I noticed! I used mortar and neb to neutralise. I used troops to take the point to the north of the bridge and took over heavy weapon here and upgraded a building (it was a good job because was attacked in force here although they surrendered as I claimed the bridge.
Indeed, the end was a bit of a letdown. I will play this very differently next time and be much more aggressive in my approach.
Have fun

To get the Panzer IV and Flame Halftrack at the north Munitons, you need to make the building next to them a First Aid station or whatever it is called there, you will not be notified about it, but I did get those two things when I did that.

This mission is easy. Most times I just use mortar to destroy enemy's 88mm guns, AT, MG at other side of a building. At the end, at the bridge, 88mm gun + Tiger-King + 2Panthers + 2Panzers + Hummel, it is really a over kill.

another way to get the flame halftrack is simply capping the nearby objective point first. Also I would recommend that you keep an eye on the Flame HT. If you loose it you can bergetiger it, but it will only become a normal HT which you can't upgrade because you are PE without wehr buildings).

There's 3 enemy rocket launchers. If you cap the other ammo point first 2 of their 3 crew members die and become inoperable and stop bothering you. I guess if you cap the ammo point by the Flame HT (and panzer) first you get them instead. When I capped it second I didn't get them.
