I need as few things cleared up;
First of all, I get errors when I add carriage returns, is there any way to view the .ship files in a way that..err..spaces them viewably?
Second, some .ship clarifications (as some fo the functions are not very clarification) are needed:
NewShipType.useEngagementRanges
NewShipType.thrusterUsage
NewShipType.mirrorAngle
NewShipType.goalReachEpsilon
NewShipType.relativeMoveFactor
*NewShipType.sway (assumption, this affects how the ship jitters or 'sways' when moving under power)
NewShipType.ArmourFamily (just unclear on just how armor plays a role)
Some other things too, is there a listing of all the formations included with the game (the assumption is that there are several unused) as well as some way to view the code for such formations (the idea here is custom formations). I 'll be blasting my .big wide open for further investigation later, but I just want to know if anyone had figured it out before.
