Prologue:
Death stalked the streets, hundreds were dead; the murders had been horrible. People had been ripped to shreds, had their blood drained, limbs of people, their bodies long since gone. They had happened everywhere, in the streets, in peoples home, in busy office buildings. The police were baffled, there was no evidence of the attackers, they had no leads, no one saw the murderers before they attacked, and there was no evidence on video of any attack. A sense of fear had gripped the city, people didn’t venture outside after dark, people locked up tight every night, and they always travelled in groups. It was all the work of an abnormal amount of creatures entering the norm, for any one that knew about the Alt, it was a scary time, as it was more difficult survive in these times.
At 1 am, a phone call woke Damien; he got up, swearing under his breath. Picking up the phone, he found the meanest voice he could find. “Yeah, whatcha want, I’m tryin to sleep here!” he said, his voice low, carrying the full extent of his unpleasant state of mind. “You will meet me beneath the 43rd street bridge at three am, you would do well to follow these instructions, after all, you know some truths that others don’t. Good bye, I’ll see you.” with that, the call ended. Arrogant son of a bitch, I may as well follow it up.
Chapter 1: Fear
2:46 am, Wednesday the 16th January.
Westgate, beneath the 43rd street bridge, Damien stood, waiting for the person that had phoned him earlier. Then he felt it, a creature, one that was about to emerge. A flash, his body was being torn apart from behind, the creatures long claws, long deadly bright red claws. He charged forward, taking out both desert eagles, he turned to see the creature lunging forward. Four bullets later, the creature stumbled forward, blood leaking from the wounds he’d inflicted. “Bastard, you deserved that!” Then something howled, something large, something powerful, something terrible. Around him lesser creatures began to appear, so many, he’d never seen so many at once. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE? They charged, Damien’s Katana slashing cleanly through several at once.
He began to run, he needed to get out of the area, he needed to find somewhere safe to regain his senses; all around him creatures were appearing; seemingly at random. It was crazy, no way that this could be a setup, no one could predict where the creatures would appear, there must have been bait, human bait, tasty human bait, those that could possibly see the alt!
OOC: We’ve all been lead here under false pretences, all in roughly a 1km square area.

Carith picked her way through the Alt, impassively stepping over a twisted, broken sword. There wasn't much point in wondering who it had once belonged to. 43rd Street Bridge, 3AM, and a healing item would be negotiable. Not that she believed them. Under this scenario, she wanted to know just who had her number and knew about her quest, no more than that. And she was using this dimension, too. A lot of humans avoided it when they could.
Kynn slithered through the broken image of the old city, moving soundlessly and near-invisibly through its dust choked buildings, its unnatural senses rendering the female below it to its senses, a sickening hunger upon it held barely in check by its higher functions. One strike would be enough, the demon thought to itself viciously.
"My, this is nostalgic," Carith noted, raising a hand idly. "I'm sure I've done this before, but I don't think I remember..." The demon "closed" its eyes for a moment, and to the eyes would seem to simply vanish. A very slight distortion remaining where it once was. Kynn moved quickly, "walking" underneath the ground, until he was directly underneath his prey. She drew her sword, sighing. “You’re really presumptuous,” Carith remarked, looking around thoughtfully. “To try and sneak up on my eyes. But I’m not interested in you, unless you have an amazing healing power of some kind. Might as well flee.”
A wickedly clawed hand slid noiselessly up from the ground, attempting to close around the womans ankle, an eager almost soundless hiss of pleasure coming from the demon. Carith exploded backwards, scraping herself on the claw before she left it’s range. “Not bad… I guess I’ll have to work for this,” she remarked. Her face twisted and disdended, skin shifting into a three-ribbed, eyeless mask. She brought her sword up to guard. The creature boiled up from the ground, the lashing of its tail somehow conveying a deep displeasure as it crouched low to the ground, motionless, staring without eyes at Carith.
Carith frowned. “No eyes, no items of interest… well, perhaps I can barter that chain with another survivor. It’ll do.” The three lines on her mask glowed with red light, an arc of energy abruptly exploding from them and wrapping round her sword, before it lanced straight towards the demon. The demon sprang to the side, the energy blazing past him as he pounces straight at the woman, a loud hissing sound that reminds one of a roar coming from its throat. Carith stepped back, bringing her sword up between them and projecting another blast. The demon becomes the distortion again, the blast passing through him harmlessly, as he passes through the woman, landing in the Alt on the other side of her, lashing out behind him with his tail without looking and the movement already in motion as he becomes corporeal again.
Carith had already jumped, flipping mid-air and landing just clear of the lashing tail. She looked over her shoulder, flipping her sword out to the side. “Not bad…”

Sierrus walked down the street, MICWS at the ready. How the man got his number or knew about him, he didn't know, but it was incredibly suspicious. Especially since he had been called at about 1:30 in the morning. Still, Sierrus wanted to know just what was going on here, so he gathered his gear and headed out.
He looked up at the sign in front of him; 43rd Street. He searched around for a bit before finding a bridge, most likely the 43rd Street Bridge. Suddenly, he heard a quartet of gunshots from somewhere, maybe close by. As he raised his weapon and started to look for the shots' origin, strange creatures began to appear. Sierrus opened fire on the first one in front of him, ripping through it with a three-round burst. It kept coming, however, clawing at him with its vicious talons. Sierrus fired again, three holes appearing in the creature's head, putting it down for good.
Another creature appeared behind him, lashing out with its claws. Sierrus rolled out of the way just in time before perforating the creature with a volley of full automatic. Yet another one of the abominations appeared behind that one, lunging forward even as Sierrus yanked out his knife and jammed it in the creatures skull. He ran across the bridge, cursing himself for falling for such an obvious trap as he searched for an escape route.

The man with three swords he was called, appeared in the streets carrying his two machetes. In front of him were numerous bloodthirsty creatures surrounding him. They are plenty, but they seem to be weak, they do not deserve to be killed by a good sword. Caen said to himself, glaring at his opponents. One of them tried to attack first, fiercely with its claw charging at its opponent before it. Caen countered it with a single slash, slicing it to half.
"Pathetic... Could not even give me an interesting fight. These things are boring, they are only for looks." He says grasping his machetes by his hands.
The creatures began to attack him by all sides, outnumbering him. Caen countered them with fast multiple slashes slicing those who tried to come closer to him. His blades looks like its dancing as it slices through those creature's flesh. Successfully decimating half of their numbers, the creatures seems to be persistent. Caen glared at them in reply grasping his blades with blood which are flowing from it. This time, he charged at their formation killing almost anything around him. He was slashing like a madman, not leaving anything standing.
After the short fight, Caen seems to be disappointed not even breaking a sweat. Wiping out the blood from his blades with a cloth he sheathed them and turned his back on lifeless carcasses around him.
"What's the world going to?" He asked to himself leaving the site with a disappointed face.

Falshyr had known it before the rest of his sorry little survival group. Screams of pain and gunshots and flashes of light that reflected off the shiny surfaces of blades signalled that more had come. He looked back over his shoulder and the five men that were following him had huddled together, their nerves made their rifles shake and the ammo rattle. Perfect bait. As if on cue, a deadly scream emmitted from a being on top of a ruined building. More joined the daemonic choir and more of the figures appeared. Some balanced perfectly on dusty clotheslines, some clutching onto the sides of buildings and some even defying gravity.
A smirk crossed Falshyr's mouth. He pulled out Dodge and threw it behind him in one swift movement. The men shouted in terror and fled, only to be cut down as they turned. Flashyr's aim had been true; and Dodge had penetrated the skull of one the figures. It stopped and turned, Bellowing daemonic curses at Flashyr and showing the blood-coated fangs that were housed in it's deathly maw. The men were being eaten alive, screams and shouteds stopped by the oral anasthetic that was secreted in the creatures saliva.
Turning sharply and drawing Viper from it's sheath, Falshyr cut down one of the creatures, bloodlust filling him from head to toe. He shouted in delight as one, then two and then three more creatures fell to the deadly blade, their blood spilling onto Falshyr in gallons. Flashyr finally succumbed to the bloodlust and charged with little regard for safety. As soon as his sword entered the first creature he saw, he blacked out.

Wallace walked down the street, He could hear gunshots and screams. "Hm... This might be interresting" He said smiling.
He pulled out his two guns and waited untill noticing claws had pierced his chest, Swiftly went ahead and cut him in two, From the buildings emerged another dozen of the creatures cuting what remained of him to shreds.
Suddely His body and clothes turned into a dark shrowd as he reformed in the air.
"Hahahaha! Is that all! i expected somme more! Prepare to die!" He pulled his two guns and instantly hit the creatures one by one Exploding in bloody gore while he descended, as more emerged he completly Lost control of himself and went ahead and tore them apart with his hands.
All that was left where a few battered corpses.
He sighed
"i must have been mistacken, well well... how could i Expect a challenge from this rabble?"
He moved ahead untill he saw the sign

"mhpf, i'm closing in... Let's hope the creatures there aren't as... dissapointing."

Kynn hisses in displeasure, tearing a hole in the Alt to escape to the Norm. The prey would not be bested quickly and the demon had no interest in a prolonged conflict. Unfortunately when he emerged in the Norm he was beset by conflict everywhere. With a snarl he tore apart an unfamiliar demon, claws and teeth lashing, and faded into the ethereal, moving swiftly underground to observe the fighting from somewhere he could'nt be blindsided.

Karil prowled the empty streets restlessly. He knew that traveling in the Alt was dangerous, yet, without a home or school in the norm anymore, he had no other option than to continue his training on his own; by taking on the beasts of the darkness.
It soon came to him that must be fighting up ahead. Glancing at the Elhan Ring, he saw the stone glowing a deep red. However, the street was vacant. They must be in the norm he thought. He tore a rift between dimensions with the Ring and jumped through.
Sure enough, as he approached he heard the sounds of gunfire, among shreiks and human shouts. Horrid as it was, it was still the first evidence of humanity he had witnessed in quite some time, and so he rushed on past the intersection of 42nd street and 5th Avenue.
As he entered the next intersection, three stray bullets whizzed by, narrowly missing his head. He turned down 43rd Street only to come face to face with a large demon, which lashed out with its lethal talons. He jumped backwards out of pure reaction, throwing a dagger forward as he fell. He grabbed the dagger out of the demon's flesh, and ran onwards...
...only to stop in horror, for in front of him was a scene of mass carnage. Several humans fought a seemingly endless horde of monsters, whose numbers were growing by the second. Karil became invisible, and just in time, for then rushed by a black haired man pursued by two demons. The fleeing man rounded the corner, but in his desperation was met by another specter, who charged forward, knocking the man down with a light kick. The demon pounced, and Karil lunged forward. He whipped out his blade staff, and, in a deadly sweep, lopped off the demon's head, and causing him to become visible again. With Karil visible and the man on his feet, the two remaining demons turned and fled, afraid of meeting the same fate as their brethren. In one swift motion, Karil lashed out with two shuriken. One of the throwing stars caught a demon in the throat, causing it to collapse writhing on the ground, but the second flew wide, sticking into a large broken streetlight.
"Are you all right?" Karil asked.
"I'm fine. Name's Damien, by the way. Damien Graith," the man said.
"Good. I'm Karil. We have to get out of here"
