It has been twelve years since the Vaygr invasion, and once more Hiigara has risen from the ashes stronger and more powerful then before. With the defeat of the Vaygr and appearance of Sajuuk, Hiigara is once again a galactic superpower, spreading it's influance across the galaxy and forging new commercial and diplomatic ties with the surrounding galactic empires.
However, a new storm is manifesting on the horizon.
For centuries, the Turanic Raiders have enjoyed the patronage of the Taiidan Empire, acting as mercenaries and shock troops in exchange for technology and military hardware. After the return of the Hiigaran exiles, the catastrophic losses incured during the Beast war, and the subsiquent attacks on their home space by Hiigaran forces, the Turanic Kingdoms have been forced to band together more then ever to re-establish themselves as a full fleged star nation. While the established nations of the galaxy were pre-occupied by the Vaygr invasion, the Turanic Kingdoms rapidly built up their fleet, and sought out new hunting grounds and new territories.
The northwest regions of Turanic space provided a rich ground for Turanic raids and illicit mining.
The Nalthoran Federation (Known as Nubia to most outsiders), a spacefaring alien species has carved out an empire of it's own far to the northwest of the galactic core, far from the wars and influance of the Taiidani that have plagued the galaxy since the exile's return. However, Nalthor remains one of Hiigara's premier trading partners, providing their advanced Nano-Bionic computer systems and abundant agricultural bounties to Hiigara in exchange for the latter's mineral wealth.
Nalthor has always had to contend with both Turanic Raiders and Their own internal power struggles. Most notible of the latter are the Kihnjahal clans, bands of deposed Nalthoran warriors that mainly seek indapendance from the Federation. Despite having a deep respect for Nalthor and it's military, many Kihnjahal have waged constant war against the Nalthoran government, what it sees as a corrupt and power hungry monarchy. While many Kihnjahal clans have notable contempt for foriegn nations, it is not uncommon for them to ally with Turanic fleets (abiet, putting their own agenda ahead of other's). Conversely, they will rally and fight alongside the Nalthoran government when a significant external threat manifests (such as the vaygr splinter fleets that launched raids on Nalthor during and following the conflict in the east).
To combat this, Nalthor has always possessed a crack military force, geared specifically for peacekeeping and counter-piracy operations at home and abroad. Nalthoran ships tend to be high capability and can stay on station for long periods of time. That combined with the exellent training nad disciplane of Nalthoran soldiers and border patrol agents has forged a military force exellent at stamping out Turanic raiders or militant Kihnjahal cells.
However, the attempted Vaygr invasion and Turanic Attacks have exposed a fatal flaw in the Nalthoran Military, they are ill suited to drawn out, high intensity combat. This has proven abundantly clear during the recent attacks by Turanic forces on Nalthoran trade lanes, military installations, and Nalthor's extensive network of commercial hyperspace gates.
To further protect it's own interests, and honor it's alliances, the Hiigaran navy has dispatched a large force of Carrier battlegroups and a mobile shipyard into the Nalthoran Hinterlands. Joint operations between the two nations to stop the Turanic Expansion have already begun, but an escalation of the conflict seems inevitable.
The Kihnjahal have seen Hiigara's intervention as a travesty against the Nalthoran race, and yet another ploy on the part of the government to bow to the desires of foriegn governments. Not since the Taiidan Imperial Era has a foriegn power stationed such military forces inside Nalthoran borders, and the martial Kihnjahal cells have begun mobilising. Some have aided the Turanic Raiders, while others have united into larger fleets.
The political situation is unstable enough, but the area of operations lies dangerously close to several undeveloped or primitive planetary governments, and galactic council regulation forbids violation of these state's soviergnty, even under these circumstances. However, the Turanics and Kihnjahal do not honor these treaties and regularly hide on areas outside Hiigaran and Nalthoran juristiction.
To further complicate matters, strange energy patterns and mysterious ships have begun appearing inside the AO, rumors of the Beast or T-MAT subtly watching the conflict unfold are running rampant, but experts agree that the unknown ship's energy output far exceeds anything even the T-MAT can remotely produce, and the few sightings of unknown ships have further dispelled any known faction's involvement. Nevertheless, most dispell these incedents as stellar phenomina or ancient derelict hulks, though Nalthor seems to be taking these matters very, very seriously. However, the immedite threat of the Turanic invaders takes priority of any UFO sightings or random energy spikes.
***
Ok, this boardwar is going to be a bit diffrent then most homeworld boardwars, focusing more in indavidual ships and crews then all out fleet battles. The basic premise is the Turanic 'Invasion' of the Nalthor Federation (See Nubia on Norsehound's Epic map. For this boardwar, Nubia = Nalthor, though Nubia is largely a foriegn referance, Nalthor is what the inhabitants refer to themselves). The Turanics are threatening Shipping in the southwest Nubian/Nalthoran providences and Hiigara has dispatched it's own fleet to help protect it's interests in the region.
Basically, Players will have control of individual capital ships or units of smaller ships as opposed to massive fleets and whatnot. For example: A player may control an individual Battleship, or a small DESRON (Destroyer squadron) consisting of one or two destroyers and two or three escorting frigates, or a carrier and it's wing of Fighters and Corvettes.
This focuses on individual ships, characters, and tactics as opposed to large fleets.
Aside from this, standard boardwar rules apply as usual.
***
Major factions are as follows:
Hiigara:
Pax Hiigara emerged from the vaygr war victorious and in possession of Sajuuk, as well as various progenitor technologies. Furthermore, the discovery of the massive hyperspace gate network promised a paradigm shift in galactic trade. However, the gate network is in severe disrapair. Gravitic drift has disrupted quantum paths, and the physical condition of the gates themselves has made passage through them dangerous. Commercial use of the gates is still far, far off.
The Hiigaran navy has since rebuilt, but is now pitted against remnant Vaygr clans, Pirates, Rogue nations, Taiidani Insurgents, and Turanic Raiders. Hiigara's industrial output was dramatically affected by the war, due in part to the damage incurred by the Vaygr, and the Fall of the Bentusi, so their trade agreements with outside sources is one of Hiigara's key lifelines in keeping it's military and it's population well supplied.
This is why the Hiigaran presance in Nalthor is so vitally important, and why Hiigara has commited vast resources to fighting the Turanic invaders. However, many see Hiigara as having a darker agenda in this region, conspiricy theories abound ranging from Hiigara's attempting to violate the soviergnty of undeveloped races to creating a power base for itself for attacks on Turanic worlds to even Absorbing Nalthor into itself as a vassal race. Hiigara's policies regarding corperate autonomy and paramilitary action in this theatre are have largely been fueling these theories, specifically letting groups like Kunde Shipping, Sponson Industries, and Kiith Somtaaw freely roam the area and use paramilitary forces to assault pirate bases.
Nalthor:
While many of the modern races are direct descendants of the Progenitors, there are a few who evolved in the Galaxy largely on their own. The Nalthorans are among these.
Nalthorans are a squat insectiod race, though they share many characteristics with amphibians. They have triangular heads with large eyes set into the front of their exoskulls and a small apposable lower jaw, squat beetle like bodies with insect like wings, allowing them to fly short distances, and small barbs along their arms and legs. Their hands and feet each have three digits and they possess apposible thumbs (though the placement of these makes it difficult for nalthorans to use certian devices intended for foriegners and vice-versa). Nalthorans are adept swimmers and can hold their breath underwater for up to ten minuites.
As a political entity, the Nalthor federation is made up of about three hundred semi autonomous hive-nations, each with it's own governers and political authority, but all of these states are ruled by a single Nalthoran queen who directs the entire federation both politically and militarily.
Nalthor is a technology sophisticated society, largely on par with Hiigara (though more advanced in the fields of agriculture and computer technology) and possessed a significant and experianced military. Nalthor openly trades with outside nations and has pre-existing ties with the Frrern aggriagte and former ties with the Taiidan Empire (and later the republic) and Bentusi.
The Nalthoran military is primarily geared toward defending it's territory from Pirates and Internal Threats (and on rare occasion, the Kadeshi) and most of their ships are designed for short deployment and high capability, allowing them to do more with less. However, Nalthor's capacity for all out war is much lower then other races, proven when a Vaygr splinter clan assaulted and devistated their northern providences. The Vaygr were pushed back, but inflicted disperportionate damage to the Nalthoran fleet and economy.
Nalthor has yet to fully recover from this, which is largely why it has requested Hiigaran aid to fight off this Turanic Threat.
Turanic Kingdoms:
While the term Turanic Raiders referes to disorganised piratic fleets roving far out in the galaxy, it is not uncommon for a Pirate captian to take over and declare themself king/queen of said realm. Such is the case with the Western Turanic Kingdoms and areas nearby, where they are by far the largest and most prominent and powerful race present.
In times past, Turanic fleets would often attack other nations such as Hiigara, Nalthor, and Frreros. Since the beast war however, the Turanics have been forced into hiding, as the Hiigaran republics are now too advanced and powerful to attack head on. Following the vaygr war however, the Turanics saw Hiigara's weakened state as an oppurtunity to expand itself into a far more potent entity.
While having made numerous technological strides, the turanic fleet resembles it's pre Beast War self, abiet with upgraded systems and a few new ships. The bulk of the Turanic's forces consist of ships, both military and civilian, stolen or purchased from other races and modified to suit the Raider's needs. A few new indegenous designs have appeared, but are not widely used given the cost and time it takes to produce them. However, given their 'home field advantage' and improved industry and tactical doctranes, the Turanic kingdoms are now Far more potent then ever before, and have their eyes set on Nalthor's rich trade lanes.
Kihnjahal:
'Kihnjahal' is a Nalthoran term meaning 'Fallen Knights' or 'Fallen Warriors' and is used to describe roving bands of Ex-Military or otherwise exiled and militant bands hostile toward the Queen. Kihnjahal are not one small band, but a broad term that has existed for millenia.
While many Kihnjahal cells are content to live in peace in the Nalthoran border worlds, some clans are more militant, fighting against what they see as an oppresive regime. Many of these clans are somewhat xenophobic, seeing Hiigara's expansionist policies as a threat to Nalthor.
A common rallying cry among Kihnjahal warriors is 'Loyalty to The people, not to the state'. Thus summarising thier intentions to replace Nalthor's monarchy with a somewhat isolationist and socialist democratic republic. This process includes exspunging foriegn influance from Nalthoran space. This is itseld at odds with the Kihnjahal's deep respect and honor for the Nalthoran Military, many Kihnjahal warriors being ex-military themselves. In combat, the Kihnjahal will often avoid destroying Military (or any Nalthoran flagged) vessels, and they always offer amnesty to any Nalthoran PoW's and citizens they are forced to attack.
However, these policies usually end with outsiders, as many Kihnjahal see any foriegn presance as a blight on Nalthor's honor, and will use whatever measures prove expedient to oust foriegn shipping from their space. However, it is not unheard of for Kihnjahal to treat foriegn prisoners with a degree of honor, allowing them to leave nalthoran space, and even work alongside foriegn powers when it proves expedient. Such is the case now, with Hiigara's presance inside Nalthor growing. Some Kihnjahal fleets see the Turanic Raiders as the lesser of two evils, but will always put their own agenda before anything else.
Kadeshi:
Despite laying lightyears outside of the Kadeshi active zone, the southwest Nalthoran colonies are one of the only areas of Kadeshi activity outside the garden. The reason is the presance of a large slipgate, known as the 'Red Highway', extending from the Gardens of Kadesh to an area in the Saluviika Cluster, a stray whisp of the Garden of Kadesh that has leaked through the slipgate over millions of years, resulting in a large gas cloud considered sacred ground by the Kadeshi.
The Kadeshi will every so often use this slipgate as a means to raid Nalthoran territory and quickly retreat into the Garden. On the far side exists a massive fortress and minefield to protect against outside intrusion. The kadeshi only have a small presance in the Saluviika region, usually having a needleship patrol the area to prevent intrusion on what they consider 'sacred ground'.
They have been in the past at odds with local Kihnjahal who treat the kadeshi as foriegn invaders, constantly attempting to expell the Kadeshi from the gascloud. However, the kadeshi's experiance in nebula warfare has often triumphed over the Rag-Tag Kihnjahal fleets, up until recently, when the Nalthoran navy annexed the region and destroyed the Kihnjahal in the area. Their intent: to secure the gas cloud for mining the reserves of Helium-3 and Daimond bearing asteroids in the region.
The Kadeshi have seen this as a decleration of war on the part of Nalthor, and have made repeated attacks in the area, and have begun spreading out from the Saluviika, attacking targets of oppurtunity. Nalthor has been able to contain the Kadeshi for the most part, but the recent Raider and Kihnjahal activity has forced Nalthor to begin transferring it's forces elsewhere.
Kiith Somtaaw has shown it's intention to help secure and mine the gas cloud as part of a joint effort. Such a move would bolster Nalthor's presance in the area, but likely have political reprocussions elsewhere. It is rumored that the Kadeshi are preparing a large scale assault force to completely secure the Saluviika Cloud and fortify it with a massive Temple-Fortress. Such an act would likely further destabilise the already volitile region.
Minor Factions/Corperations:
The ever escalating conflict within the Nalthoran southwest has begun drawing the attention of the various small, undeveloped nations inhabiting the hinterlands of the Nalthoran Regime. The soverignty of these regions prevents Nalthoran and Hiigaran intervention by galactic law, however many of them are also considered to reside within Nalthoran territory, thus obligating Nalthor to defend those who cannot defend themselves. The galactic laws regarding undeveloped nations are both strict and complicated, full of unintended loopholes and legal paradoxes.
Given that the Turanics, Kadeshi, and Khinjahal do not respect galactic law, Nalthoran and Hiigaran forces are faced with numerous legal and political dilemmas that further threaten the stability and juristiction of the conflict.
However, not all of these nations are helpless. Infact, many of them have developed thier own space fleets and small pocket empires. Yet others have little or no space technology to speak of, and may pledge fealty to one of the other factions. The Kihnjahal are known to usually ignore these nations, considering their territory outside Nalthor and only entering when need's be. But it is not uncommon for them to raid these states for weapons and supplies. The Turanics however, will often attempt to conquer the more primitive states through superior force of arms, thus providing them with bases to launch attacks into Nalthoran space.
The other wild card are the myriad of corperations and paramilitaries who's intrests are threatened in the area. Some, like Kunde Shipping and Kiith Somtaaw, who possess their own private security forces, may take matters into their own hands to protect their assets from any agressors, be they Turanic, Kihnjahal, or otherwise.
Even these are not the last of the powers operating in the area, as rumors persist of strange unidentified ships and incomprehensible energy patterns, far diffrent then those used by any other race. The usually suspects like the Bentusi, T-Mat, Beast, and Progenitors have been ruled out, based on the level of unknown activity. The T-Mat federation have made clear that they have no presance in the region, considering it outside their interests and domain.
The true identity of these mysteriors phenomina, be they undiscovered progenitor derelects, beast infections, unknown alien races, or simply strange stellar phenomina, is yet to be confirmed, but the established powers are taking this very seriously.

Character Name: Kihvayj Eski'il Oskos IV
Race/Nation: Nalthor Federation
Occupation/Rank: Xira'au (Roughly equivelent to a Commander)
Gender: M
Info: Kihvayj Oskos is the latest in a long bloodline of military personell from the Oskos-Shal family, streching back at least to the Khenaniji Day War, 370 years ago. Despite only recently achiving command of a large military ship, his past activities have proven his tactical ingenuity and command prowess, having previously been asigned to the Nalthoran Merchant Marine and a fighter wing based on the light carrier Ilasij Parii.
Kihvayj's combat experiance comes from an earlier counter-Insurgency campaign to remove Kadeshi pirates from the Saluviika. During which time, his fighter squadron (consisting of 24 Keikei class superiority fighters) was responsible for keeping the large force of Kadeshi swarmer craft at bay while strategic bombers attacked their capital ships and fuel tankers.
Since then, he has achived command of a brand new Destroyer and it's attendant squadron, and is currently assigned in joint recon-strike operations against Turanic forces operating in the 'Aaman belt', a large asteroid field that disrupts hyperspace travel, and a favorite spot for Raiders to hide and assault merchant convoys.
Ship name: NRNS Isenjal-shani
Shipclass: Bakotonyr Class (Tacitcal Destroyer)
Armarments: 3xHybrid Ion Cannons (fast tracking, mag directed), 4xVarible Geometry Missile Launchers (capable of launching various ordnance ranging from anti-fighter to tactical nukes), 2xAC-45 CIWS (Fighter/Missile Deterance), 2xGECO dome (Backup defence/area denial weapon)
Support Fleet/Escorts: 1xAliushol DD (Older Missile Destroyer Class), 2xIazyne FF (Tactical Interceptor Frigate), 1xYovarfiy FFI (Ion Beam Frigate)
Info: The Bakotonyr Class Patrol/Tactical destroyer is Nalthor's next generation heavy combatant, Largely replacing several older models in frontline service. This Destroyer class emphasises Nalthor's general design philosiphy of ships that can react quickly and adapt to changing conditions on the fly (though often at the cost of raw firepower and survivability).
One of the Bakotonyr's key features it it's GUT drive, a somewhat crude but still highly effective low-intertia system, reverse engineered from Bentusi and Progneitor Technology. The Bakotonyr is the first vessel to recive such a system, and the technology is not fool-proof, so the Bakotonyr possesses a full backup system incase the main drive should fail.
The Bakotonyr also features a Hybrid Ion Cannon array, which works somewhat like a helix bundle in the sense that it uses a single reactor and accelleration system, with the beam projected from polarised emmitters on the Ship's sides and front. However, instead of using a bulky accelleration ladder, the H-IC uses an array of pulse lasers to accellerate and energise the particle beam. This does however lead to higher then average strain on the focusing arrays and causes some heat dissipation problems.
Aside from this, the Bakotonyr is equipped with a number of missile launcher turrets capable of firing missiles up to and including 572mm Nuclear Antiship missiles. Smaller ordnance can be fired by use of a sabot and linear accellerator. As well, the destroyer possesses several fast tracking gun turrets for missile and fighter defence.
Disposition/Alligneces: Obviously Allied with all Nalthoran Government agencies and Hiigaran forces. Hostile to Kihnjahal/Turanic/Kadeshi.
Other: Current Objectives are to operate jointly with Hiigaran units and prevent Turanic incursion in the Aaman belt. May also temperarily attach supply ships or decoy vessels to draw Turanic fleets into ambushes or resupply their own force.

yes for a Homeworld BW, and yes for a BW that is not (at least intended to become) a slaughtering fest.
Will join.
Character Name: Dan Sjet
Race/Nation: Hiigaran / Sjet
Occupation/Rank: Unbound in training
Gender: Male
Info: Dan had been tested and been confirmed to have the mental capacities to withstand and control nerve controls and as such has been drawn in by the Hiigaran Navy for a project to train more Unbound Controllers for the ever growing Navy. As one of the two hundred people who were modified and trained, his capacity was above average and his will and effort remarkable, as such, he, among with others, most who were more talented than him, have graduated and are now entering actual service in the Navy. As part of the training, the subjects still only control single ships at once, until specialists are convinced of their capabilities.
He proved promising on smaller raiding and recon missions and is now being transferred to a Quick Reaction Force entering the Nalthoran sovereign territory. It is the biggest fleet he has been assigned to, to date.
Ship name: Maan-Ko
Shipclass: Hiigaran Battlecruiser
Armarments: Standard Armament; two dual Ion Cannons, four double Kinetic Cannons, four Pulsar Beam point defences.
Support Fleet/Escorts: one scout squadron, three interceptor squadrons in the Hangar
Info: The Maan-Ko is a leftover Model of the Vaygr Wars. It had been seriously damanged in the final Battle over Hiigara, and has been repaired and put into service afterwards as resources were sparse and the need for a working military force was still there. While it's historic value is great, it's value for the Navy isn't. It had undergone tens of overhauls, but the systems are still way out of time and the ship's outerior and interior is a patchwork of scars and repairs that it took over the years. It is due to be retired soon, this mission may easily be it's last.
Disposition/Alligneces: (?) Treaties with private forces, Alliance with the Nalthoran forces, at war with the Turanic Kingdoms
Other: maybe later

I would join but it's been years since I played Homeworld and I can remember hardly anything about the ships and factions and whatnot. However the premise for this BW with it being single ship and character based is a great idea and I wish you luck with it :)

Count my mini-fleet in
I've made a few changes :P
Character Name: Ordar Nabaal
Race/Nation: Nabaal/ Hiigarian
Occupation/Rank: Strike-wing Major
Gender: male
Info: Hard working and Diligent are Ordar's main strong points and is why he was chosen to command his newest ship: the Kuun-Toba. A BC commander, Ordar is an individual who has proven that you can thread a needle with a destroyer. Ordar has been commander of Frigates before transfered to capitals prior to the war, and has continued to show his mastery over the larger warships. What he seems to lack was an ability to manage resources. Frequently going over budgets or overstocking ammo dumps, every torpedo frigate and some destroyers that he commanded have gone down thanks to well-paced shots and an overstuffed magazine. His own survivability often makes him look like both an imortal and a fool. Thanks to his generally easy-going additude, he still goes forth and reigns havok at point-blank range, even when the outcome looks bleak.
Ship name: Kuun-Toba
Shipclass: 'kabashed' Hiigarian Battlecruiser
Armarments: x4 heavy ion cannons (two twin turrets), x8 'arbiter' guns (four twin turrets), x8 flak guns (four twin turrets), two starboard torpedo tubes
Support Fleet/Escorts: one scout squad, three bomber squads, one intercepter squad in hanger
Info: The Kuun-Toba is a fairly new vessel, produced during the Pride's rush to the Boanca gate. While it was too late to escort the Pride to the great gate, it did help mop up the remainding Vaygr forces. She is of an altered design, as her weapons layout shows: more emphysis on all-round combat and less on sheer anti-capital firepower. Due to this, she has to carry bombers with her to help pin Vaygr BCs to get out of the Trinity gun's fire. As she also does sport slightly improved speed over her cousins (and a smaller turn radius), she sports less armor, and her docking sleeves are not the most reliable. Despite her detractors, she has taken out three enemy BCs and several destroyers with the aid of allied units, and continues to show promise...
...if she lasts...
Disposition/Alligneces: Loyal to a fault with the Hiigarians; especially Nabaal. Has no real anguish against anyone else but to those who threaten his people and loved ones.
Other: Ordar does not take well to people saying bad things about his family nor can take the frenzied action of a fighter/corvette cocpit, he usually has ice water for blood.
the Kuun-Toba, despite having thin armor and high speed, has more bulkheads than any other ship of it's class, and has a larger hanger than most other BCs. The larger hanger and extra bulkheads are partly due to that much of her interior was canibalized from several destroyed vaygr BCs.
There still continues to be some problems with Hiigarian computers understanding what the Vaygr equipment are 'saying' and vice versa. this explains why the Kuun-Toba features the longest docking/undocking times in the entire Hiigarian navy.
Other problems include the frequent jamming of the portside arbiter gun turret (becomes fixed), a small bug in the starboard module interface (the ship currently has only a fire control tower on the port), torpedos often loose track of their targets (again, due to communication problems between Vaygr and Hiigarian computers), and the heating in the secondary bridge section fails on the occasion.

Looks to be interesting, heres my first idea. If it doesn't work out I can always think of something else. Willing to make changes, but would appreciate reasons and possible suggestions rather then just a "Remove that.". I also understand the Bleeding Rose probably sounds nearly invincible, if its technology worked 100% of the time it probably would be. But It doesn't which is what helps to balance it out some but still make it a very dangerous threat.
Character Name: Karza Trask
Race/Nation: Turanic Raiders
Occupation/Rank: Freelancer/Pirate
Gender: Male
Info: Karza has been a Raider captain for a good length of time, he hasn't really kept track as his focus is always on what he is attempting to accomplish. He is one of the most well known individual Raiders because of the succesful raids he has led against both Hiigaran and Nalthoran convoys. Another reason he is well known is the fact that he is somewhat of a mercenary. He has helped out individual Hiigaran captains in the past for a price. The Hiigaran Navy does not publicly endorse this at all ofcourse. Their are even rumors that he'll turn his guns on other Turanic's for the right price.
He also has a knack for picking out traps and ambushes that the Nalthoran and Hiigarans have tried to spring on him. Often causing commanders to hesitate on their well layed plans if they pick up his ship among a Turanic Force.
Karza has some influence within the kingdoms not for his attitude but because of his ship which is definatly one of a kind among the Turanics as it possesses reverse engineered progenitor tech. This has garnered him several friends as well as enemies within the Kingdoms.
Ship name: Bleeding Rose
Shipclass: Heavily Modified Battlecruiser(Unknown Model)
Armarments: 6x Heavy Fusion Torpedo Launchers, 6x Heavy Plasma Cannons, 4x Fast Tracking Flechette Cannons, Modified Trinity Cannon
Support Fleet/Escorts: Carriers a 1 Wing of Interceptors and bombers, as well as several thief class corvettes.
Info: The Bleeding Rose is the only one of its kind known, this has garnered its Captain Karza with both friends and enemies. No ones knows quite how Karza got his hands on this ship, many think he constructed it in secret even from the Turanic Kingdoms.
The ship is extremely imposing, its form vaguely similiar to a Hiigaran Battlecruiser but possess's more of a triangualar shape. Its rear engines are well shielded from fire by its thick armor. While its launchers and heavy turrets give it impressive firepower against other capital ships the true inspiration of terror from the ship is its modified Trinity cannon that was salvaged from a derelict Vaygr Battlecruiser.
It still possesses impressive destructive power but Karza saw the vunerability of the cannon having such a narrow arc of fire, while the weapon can hardly fire in any direction it has a much expanded cone of fire from the nose of the ship. One of the downsides to the modifications as well as ripping it out of its intended ship is the cannon does at times short out, its accuracy leaves much to be desired as well.
The key thing that makes the Bleeding Rose ever more dangerous is its reverse engineered Progenitor shielding. While not invincible the progenitor shields give the ship a substantial increase in durability. They are not perfect however, heavy bursts of concentrated fire can temporarily burn them out. Other times the shields may short out on their own or not function at full power due to the technology not being fully understood.
The other final thing to mention about the Bleeding Rose is it possess's a stealth system, this does not render int undetectable by any stretch however. All this system is capable of doing is make it harder to pick up the ship at long range. Pretty much any dedicated scan will see through the system.
Disposition/Alligneces: Karza is an oddity among Turanics in that he hates the current power make up of the Kingdoms, but at the same time is not in a rush to try and defect to some other side as he enjoys being a pirate. His allegiances depends mainly on his current target as well as the highest bidder.
Other: Misc : Karza is known to currently be in the Aaman Belt, his precise where abouts are unknown as is his intentions.

Character Name: Commander Tau'lo
Race/Nation: Tenhauser Guerilla's
Occupation/Rank: Commander
Gender: Male
Info: Tau'lo is the leader of a notorious Guerilla force known as the Tenhauser Guerilla's. He is ruthless, cunning, an experienced and capable leader. Like many of the guerilla pilot's Tau'lo prefers to use strike craft for quick discreet interventions, rather than attack with large slow moving warships. Although that does not stop him from taking the helm of the Red Dawn, a powerful destroyer-class vessel. Like many of the Tenhauser Guerilla's Tau'lo is also experienced in ground operations and combat and has been the figure behind many assasinations in the past. He is regarded with respect and sometimes fear throughout many of the fringe worlds and the Turanic Kingdoms.
Ship name: Red Sun
Shipclass:
Red Sun: Destroyer
Hornet: Heavy Interceptor
Armarments:
Red Sun: 14x Torpedo Bays, Point Defense Systems
Hornet: Standard ship-to-ship missiles, dual chain cannons. 1 nuclear warhead.
Support Fleet/Escorts: 3X Destroyers (including Red Sun), 4 fighter wings. Equates to roughly 30 fighters.
Info: Tenhauser Destroyers are of unique design. While being able to support 15 fighter class vessels each, these versatile vessels also sport nuclear powered propulsion systems, giving them a near endless supply of energy and high speed rates. However the destroyers rely heavily in this speed as their armour is weak and can only stand up to light bombardment, that it however, only if a ship gets close enough to attack. 14 torpedo bays make short work of most warships.
Tenhauser Fighters are another unique and high sought vessel in the Galaxy. During the Hiigaran-Vaygr war, a defense firm by the name of
Onyx began production of a fighter custom designed for quick, discreet interventions. Only 100 of these vessels were created and at the resolution of the war the Tenhauser Guerillas broke into the Onyx factory and made off with 50 of these fighters. The others were simply destroyed along with the facility. The fighters themselves look similar to bats, with steely-grey armour and high-yield weaponry, they are fast and can pack a punch. Each vessel is outfitted with a nuclear missile, to be used as a last resort.
Disposition/Alliances: The Tenhauser are Guerillas who attack anyone and anything which comes near their base at Tenhauser. They are sympathetic however to a Turanic Lord who ships supplies to their base on a monthly basis, in return for 'dirty work' much of which has been centered around the Nubian borders as well as several incursions into Nalthoran space.
Other: The Guerillas make use of the ancient hyperspace network to move across the galaxy quickly, several jump-gates are located inside Nalthoran space and this is how they have managed, on occasion to strike as deep as their homeworld itself.

@Rabid Gerbil: 400 fighters is waaay too many for a boardwar of this relatively small scale, even for larger ships like carriers. And even with carriers, you wouldn't have nearly that many, even when taking the kadeshi into account, let alone on a Destroyer class vessel.
Fighters in this boardwar are going to (for the mostpart) have higher individual value and combat capability then in any of the actual games, and having that many fighters is going to cause an arms race with people spamming fighters, flak frigates, defence guns, etc, thus ruining one of the key points of the BW.
I'd suggest dumbing it down to say 20 (5 for each destroyer) deployed at any given time with a possibility of limited re-inforcements later on. Individual fighters are supposed to have a bit of substance to them in keeping to this BW (Kadeshi aside)
I'll let Yoshi keep his epic battleship as is for the time being, to help with the later story arc. My reasoning being 1: It's the only ship he has, and 2...
We may need it later, incase something 'else' uber comes along.

First, I wouldnt mind if you could either make a map, or explain how the slipgate stuff and the scenery and etc etc is laid out where what is what, cause im confused.
Character Name: Reccoba Kadesh
Race/Nation: Kushan, The Protectors, Kadeshi
Occupation/Rank: Cardinal
Gender: Male
Info: Cardinal Reccoba came to his position in command of the Red Veil after spending several years deeply devoted to the studying of every past incursion and every major excursion of the Kadeshi people. Though the latter numbered few, the former was many, and he learned of all their tactics and all the Kadeshi downfalls. With his small fleet, he plans to cleanse the Unclean and prepare the way for a larger task force dedicated to the protection and fortification of the Saluviika Cloud.
Ship name: Red Veil
Shipclass: Needleship
Armarments: Two (2) Heavy Ion Cannons, Twelve (12) Point Defense Cannons, Really Really Uber Huge Ramming Device
Support Fleet/Escorts:
Three (3) Multi-Beam Frigates
Twelve (12) Advanced Swarmers
Fourty-Eight (48) Swarmers
Ten (10) Fuel Pods
Info:
The Needleships are some of the most beautiful if not deadly mothership vessals in the galaxy. Combining speed, mobility, armour and firepower, they throw themselves into the fight if the Garden is in danger. Needleships have been seen to plow straight through a destroyer with little to no damage to their prow. No battlecruiser has ever fallen prey to this dangerous tactic.
Multi-Beam Frigates are the bane of any capital ship. Carrying nearly if not more of an armament af a destroyer, these frigates fry most capital ships in moments. In force even battlecruisers and mothership class vessels dont stand a chance.
Advanced Swarmers and their basic counterparts are the bane of all fighters and slow moving capital ships. Armed and armoured like a corvette and coupled with the speed of a fighter, it is unsure if even the old Bentusi Acolytes would stand up to their ferocious assault. Their only down fall is their small fuel amounts, which is sacrificed for their high performance equipment. In recent years, salvaged and pirated engine drives has seen an increase in engine performance, bringing them up to par with old Kushani and Taidanii fighter drives from the era of the Exiles. Even though the newest drives in the galaxy way outlast them, the advances have made it possible for vulnerable fuel pods to remain out of sight, hidden amongst the Garden's protective veils.
The weakness of the swarmer is allayed in the fuel pod: a slow moving and very lightly armed frigate class vessal which is used as an in battle refueling stop for swarmers. By Cardinal Reccoba's order, these ships were refitted with higher class engines and more heavily armoured, making them less easy prey for enemy capital ships.
Disposition/Alligences: Destroy the Unclean! Purge the Garden!
Other: Dont try to capture my swarmers, they will self destruct..... grr!!!!

One thing I'd like to mention, since we're working with such small fleets, some of our vessels may be destroyed, or we may need to swap out for ships that better suit the situation. I'll allow this to some extent, on a case by case basis. If you want re-inforcements, post here in the OOC thread first.
However, reinforcements must be equivelent to your inital fleet.

Dude its the start of the BW, alot of stuff is going to be happening. 50 seconds is a bit short. Make it five minutes. Hey Ironwatas, did you have anything but those two frigates guarding the convoy btw? I read over you fleet stats and I thought you had two destroyers but it said you only had the one extra missile destroyer, which stayed behind to deal with Karza...cos if im mistaken I'll need to rewrite my post.

This is just the opening Kaito I really doubt that convoy will make or break the BWs story wether it gets captured/destroyed or gets to its destination.

15th Feb 08, 6:26 PM
just sayin; he turned up -> no one could react. he destroyed ALL of escorts -> no one could react. he crippled all the civilian ships -> no one could react. his fighters left again -> no one could react. He spawned a ship right in front of everyone else, (which btw makes no sense as far as I get it; how and why would that mega destroyer know about the convoy and come trap it) and now people are allowed to do something, again. great, well if you don't care, fine, but I definitely wouldn't want to play like that.
ps: I wouldn't be saying this if I didn't know Rabid for killing off promising BWs.
Raver
15th Feb 08, 6:35 PM
Just as Yoshi said, this is just an intro. If it means that much to you write up a post and reclaim your precious convoy. What do you think would happen with two frigates against 50 missiles? Civilian ships arent crippled. I didnt spawn a ship. I had three destroyers in the first place and I'm only using two. I have left the end of my post open for anything to happen. For my forces to get completely owned if someone was so inclined. I did not however, kill off another members vessels and suffer no losses. Iron's frigates were up against a superior force but took around about 20 of my fighters (which is a large portion of my ENTIRE force by the way).
If you have a beef with my Kaito take it up in PM of over MSN if you're that irritated. If you are the only person who is annoyed by this than this is your problem. If Iron and the other members dont like it, I will happily change it but im not going to rewrite a whole post because it irritates only you.

typhoonoftempest

no, I'm accounting for the bad engineering practices of fusing a Vaygr BC midsection with the bow and stern of a Hiig BC. That, and the torpedo magazine (which is the size of the previous two fusion missile launchers) was overfilled. Lots of rocking plus a lot of torps multiplied by a weak hull structure equals doom.
Of course now, the Kuun-Toba could litterally fly circles around the Bleeding Rose, bringing it's remaining ion cannon turret, arbiter cannon, and three flak turrets on whatever is available. I pitty your squadrons, and the port side of your ship.

Character Name: Chari'is Somtaaw
Race/Nation: Higarran Kiith Somtaaw
Occupation/Rank: Captain of the Caan-Var
Gender: Male
Info: The Caan-Var's crew was selected from the best of the Somtaaw military training school to be brought together under the command of Chari'is. Together they have been patroling the Nalthoran and Higarran borders to defend against the recent uprising of Turanic activity.
Ship name: Caan-Var
Shipclass: Modernized and modified Archangel 2 Somtaaw Dreadnaught.
Armarments:
-2 heavy ion cannon turrets (damageable).
-HWC-style Repulsor weapon(range of 4 km, does not cause damage unless ships crash, affects friendlies. 5 minute recharge time.)
-six missile bays capable of launching heavy torpedoes that are effective versus most corvettes and frigates (just like in HWC).
-a hyperspace module built into the ship
-Infection Vaccine, like the old Dreadnaughts.
Support Fleet/Escorts:
-2 squadrons of five Somtaaw elite Acolytes (can link to form elite ACVs when necessary, can fire missiles but must dock to fire missiles again.)
-2 Somtaaw hive frigs
Info: The Caan-Var is a prototype of Archangel design, combining the effectiveness of the Beast-era Archangel II with that of the Vagyr-era Higarran Battlecruiser. With two improved ion cannon turrets and two more missile bays, the Caan-Var is expected to exceed the power of the old Higarran Battlecruiser. Its new docking bay, which can hold up to 4 squadrons, resides in the very center of the C-shaped capital ship, providing strike craft maximum cover as they dock. Although the Beast are presumed dead, Kiith Somtaaw still keeps Infection Vaccine handy on most frigates and all capital ships. This enables the Caan-Var and its two hive frigate escorts to resist Beast infection, giving its crews a better chance of survival. However, this is of course no defense against
Disposition/Alligneces: Allied to Higarrans and Nalthorans, Chari'is is a strong upholder of the law and quite a Somtaaw patriot. However, despite allegiance to Nalthorans, Chari'is has no conflict with the Kihnjahal Rebels. However, Kiith Somtaaw upholds the Higarrans' active state of hostility against the Turanic Raiders and Kadeshi extremists, and Chari'is follows suit.
Other: The hive frigates can each hold ten swarmer drones, and they can rebuild. In desperate measures, the drones' controllers onboard the Hive frigates may use the swarmers to kamikaze!

x1 Torpedo Frigate

typhun-> It isn't my decision, but if Ironwatsas lets you, you could definitely use some more ships.
GawD-> I dunno... You have a Needle Mothership! That alone can destroy one of our BCs by ramming...Then you have multi-beam frigates, which are lethal enough...
Looking back at my last post with the boarding parties thing, I hope no one minds how I assumed most battlecruisers have stuff like crew transport shuttles to land in the Rose's hangar, because that's what I thought when I posted, and then I realised none of us have marine frigates...
crawford'n'co
17th Feb 08, 9:22 PM
We dont know if it could destroy a BC by ramming. I've never found out by trial (though if someone wanted to edit player files and stuff and throw in a heavy cruiser in mission 7 or whatever, I'd be more than willing to listen to their results.) And its because most of you have equal or more fighters than me. Its mainly because of you and rabid that i want to bump it up. You have 20 some acolytes, and 2 hive frigates. Swarmers advantage is their name. They swarm things. With lots of swarmers. And I wont even be using the new ones in combat, just as reinforcement.

See the bold:
Support Fleet/Escorts:
-2 squadrons of five Somtaaw elite Acolytes (can link to form elite ACVs when necessary, can fire missiles but must dock to fire missiles again.)
-2 Somtaaw hive frigs

I don't actually have 20 acolytes; just 10. 2 squadrons of 5. That really is NOT a lot at all. The Caan-Var, however, has room for 4 squadrons, meaning for 2 extra squadrons. Sorry if I was misleading in my post.
Also, hive frigates aren't that great, and the Caan-Var is pretty much a normal Archangel II dreadnaught aside from its docking capabilities. My reasoning behind the hive frigates as well as 10 elite acolytes is that these are the only anti fighter stuff I have: the Caan-Var can only shoot Ion cannons and heavy torpedoes. (you could consider the Repulsor anti fighter but all it does is move the enemy away, it doesnt do damage unless you hit something.)
I do however completely understand your need for more swarmers, because their strength IS in numbers. But again, this is Ironwatsas's call, not mine.

Well, no big problem. I'm not goin much of anywhere today, so I can wait.

Yall do realise that i can only hold out on beginning construction of a super-massive shipyard / defensive fortress for so long right? There's only so much cleansing my fleet can do. So I suggest hurrying up if you want to gain anything of a foothold in the Saluviika Cloud.
Quaetam

Yeah, I'm hoping we have a chance to investigate the "dissappearance" of a resourcing operation in the Saluviika Cloud. I've spoken to Iron and he says he hopes for the same chance soon, either during or after this next mission.
Either way, don't give up: We'll find a way to get at you somehow ;).

I think the Caan-Var can live without a small chunk. The Kuun-Toba is a different story.
Yeah, that was pretty much my entire message right there =P!
I would probably go ahead and post, probably something to develop my character through what he does on the station, but I have two problems:
1) Right now I have a conflict in character location. Kaito told the Caan-Var to dock on the shipyard, and even though he probably meant the Kuun-Toba, I was already docked at Fort Asukafiy, causing a conflict in where I am. Until he edits his last post to replace Caan-Var with Kuun-Toba or something I'm pretty stuck :moefixed:.
2)as with everyone else except Gerbil, Yoshi, and GawD, I'm waiting for the breifing =P.
Kaito

I'll let you have one or two more frigates or a fighter squadron to combat bigger ships, but we shouldn't go overboard. Part of the premise of the boardwar is that ships are going to be a bit more capable then in regular HW2. Think Nexus: The Jupiter Incedent, where we're taking a much closer presance in our ship's operation.
Speaking of which, here's my new fleet consist.
1xBakotonyr-DDG (Isenjal-Shani: Destroyer, armed with missiles, Ion cannons, and defence guns)
1xOrelskiyv-CVL (Esparnii: Light Carrier, armed with short range interceptor missiles)
-24xKeikei FTA (Fighter, equipped with small caliber autocannons and missiles)
-7xSoliun FTB (Strategic Bomber, armed primarily with long range guided missiles of varying type)
-3xNhaldi-307MR (Nebula Recon/Command & Control, armed only with missile defence lasers, but has high tech sensors and command software)
-2xJhavicr (Resource Collectror Mech, designed for field mining operations)
-9xNL-902 (Repair Drone, can deploy smaller repair bots to assist larger ships)
2xIazyne FF (I-121, I-127, armed with rapid fire, fast tracking guns and missiles. Designed for escort and fire support)

OK heres my new fleet (already O.K.d by Iron) as long as no one has any major problem with it:
Spoiler about original ships
-1 Somtaaw Modified dreadnaught (Caan-Var, has -2 heavy ion cannon turrets (damageable).
-Infection Vaccine, like the old Dreadnaughts., just like my original post.)
-2 squadrons of five Somtaaw elite Acolytes, no change from original post.(can link to form elite ACVs when necessary, can fire missiles but must dock to fire missiles again.)
-2 Somtaaw hive frigs (10 drones each, each drone has standard light kinetic gun like in HWC and can kamikaze)
Spoiler about additions to original fleet
-3 modified mimics (equipped with light (scout strength) kinetic gun so they don't have to kamikaze, but must drop disguise to shoot stuff)
-1 more hive frigate, same stats as the first two.
I'm trying to keep my additions simple so they don't change things too much ;).

typhoonoftempest
23rd Feb 08, 8:47 PM
10 super-acolytes vs 30 acolytes = super-acolyte win. Do not underestimate little ion-cannon-firing craft. and remember that a single tradeship can annialate an entire wing of fighters after just one pass.
[EDIT] @que except Ironwill
Raver
23rd Feb 08, 8:54 PM
Well you would think they they would be able to fire the ion cannons in burst mode, to make it more usable for dogfighting. Either way I have no intention of using them on Swarmers.
Also, typhunoftempest, seeing as there is no friction in space the repulsor would give the vessels momentum and using that momentum they would eventually drift out of the cloud.
typhoonoftempest
23rd Feb 08, 8:57 PM
what we don't know is if the cloud has significant friction to stop the ships
how else my a civilian craft get stuck in such if it would merely coast though it?
[EDIT] though good memory on that space has no friction
Though yes, the super-acolytes do have a short fireing time and an equally short recharge time, which is what makes them great for taking on fighters and even corvettes. big ships are just barns to broadside.
[EDIT EDIT] I'd like to wait for kaito to reply to all of this. I hope he comes on shortly.

Quite a point there :D.
Let's see...
-We cant just harvest it because it would probably shut down the harvester (which none of us have but Ironwatsas, and he isn't here yet)
-We can't EMP it, that went very poorly.
-I can't repulse it, typhun (who created the thing) already hinted that it won't help.
-No ion cannons, they don't mix well with highly charged clouds.
-No hyperspacing frigates, they would take part of the cloud with them.
-Kadeshi are hostile and thus won't help us.
-Our remaining options are something like:
1) try using a PDA on it (nagarrok style, just be sure not to hit the trapped ships)
2) just shoot at it! (think Naar everyone!)
3) ummmm.... manuver so that when we activate our engines they burn away the cloud?

??? You have to be kidding. Needleships move as fast as a frigate. And Swarmers would tear your battlecruiser apart. Your flak cannons can only target one or two at a time. And theres 72 of them. Your torp bays and systems can only last so long.
So I dont seem to be powergaming, Heres my goals:
1. I wont be leaving the Saluviika. You have to come get me first.
2. All of my swarmers will not instantly become uber swarmers of doom and be implemented with Bentusi tech. At first it will only be the Adv. Swarmer wings.

I know needleships are faster then most MS class ships but I didn't think they were frigate speeds, destroyer maybe, but more likely battlecruiser at most. As that is a fricken assload of mass to move even with really good drives.

Most RTS games (yes, this isnt homeworld the game, its a boardwar, but general fluff rules / stuff still follows) have the rock-paper-scissors-rock thing going, and homeworld is no exception.
Fighters > Capital Ships > Frigates > Corvettes > Fighters
Generally speaking. Yes, your bc would probably crush my mbfs. Yes, your bc would beat my NS in a firefight. No your bc would not survive 72 swarmers in a firefight.
Quaetam

Wouldn't need to, Swarmers don't have inhibitor fields. If the Needleship goes down then I could jump.
Capital ships can survive against fighters, depending on the exact numbers and if they are just that Fighters and not Bombers. Fighters can only really plink a capital ship to death. Bombers on the other hand are much more deadly.
Either way, karza is not in a rush to go jumping into kadesh controlled territory.

Imagine a Somtaw Dreadnought except not as thick (laterally), flying backwards (like a Harbour ship), Ion canons aigned in its prow(front) instead of the ventral and dorsal (top and bottom) sides. The inside would be all nicely lit up too. Point defense would be pulsars and the such.

Jeez, two posts at the same minute! :o
Yeah, that was one good night for this boardwar =)!
As the two hive frigates latched onto their targets and began to power down, the Caan-Var and the Fal-Fian revved their engines, backing up and pulling the ships out of the ship-eating energy field via what was to become known as the Ordar Fishing Manuver.
;)

Oh. I was just figuring you created the anomaly, so you should decide what gets to happens when we investigate the ships. However, what we could do in the meantime is post about incoming Bentusi on multiple trajectories (Rabid's super acolytes; this option would probably lead to battle), or another reported raid on a mining convoy (GawD) ;).
typhoonoftempest

I'd focus on both, actually, but we would have to defend ourselves if we are to be able to even get close to finding out what Gawd was up to.

Don't forget, if he calls upon me, I might find need to come help him out. Which means youd find 60 Swarmers (Those twelve that I ordered earlier are for patrol and reinforcement) in the fight too. 12 of which have the combat capabilities of Super Acolytes. So don't go around killing too many of Rabid's ships. The Garden Protects its own.
Quaetam
24th Feb 08, 8:09 PM
Well, let's just hope he doesn't call on you then. Besides, I don't imagine you would leave in the middle of a convoy raid and let them defile the Garden, would you?
Also... ...Any day now Rabid :p
@GawD=Id try my best to deal with them... something involving the Caan-Var, a hyperspace gate, an ACV, 60 swarmers and a needleship, and the ship eating electrocloud...

Anyways I was considering transferring Karza to this ship sometime soon. Heres its current make up though I did write it fairly quickly so may need to change things about it.
In store? I'm almost worried at this point lol.
________
Rose Lancer
Class: Fast Attack Cruiser
Armorments: 2x Dual Plasma Cannons, 1x Multi-Launch Torpedo Bay, 4x Flechette Cannons
Info
Rose Lancer is similiar to Bleeding Rose in that she is a new breed of Turanic craft. The sighting of her makes it obvius that Karza has used his influence to establish a personal think tank. He apparently isn't satisfied with the rag tag stolen turanic designs.
She is smaller then Bleeding Rose however she is still designed to intimidate, not through size and sheer destructive power. But through with the speed and force in which she attacks, her main damage comes from the large torpedo bay on the underside of the ship. Capable of launching torpedos one after another or firing off a massive salvo all at once before reloading. Plasma cannons provide more precision firepower while the Flechette turrets help ward off fighters.
Her torpedos are extremely deadly, they can either be targetted onto enemy ships before they're fired. Or if the Rose Lancer is beign jammed they can be dumbfired and their own targetting systems can choose their own target. This makes them extremely usefull in areas known for sensor disruption.
The ship possesses a drive that is far larger then needed for a ship of its size and class, this lends it to being incredibly fast, she can also initiate an overdrive that increases her thrust substantially. While making her faster then most known craft it also makes her meanuverability drop to near zero. The engines are heavily armored making them extremely hard to disable. Her other defensive measure is an active stealth system that helps hinder fire upon the cruiser.
Behind the torpedo bay rests her large cargo hold intended to be filled with the stolen goods of whatever convoy the ship raids. She seems to be intended to strike alone out of nowhere rather then with the usual gaggle of Turanic ships like fighters, missile corvettes and thief salvage ships.

I'd double the flachette guns, and make it where you 'barrowed' the torpedolette idea that the Hiigarian torpedo frigate enjoys. or do either-or
Oh, and do calm down. I'll make SURE that Karza remains a big player in this boardwar after this fight. He will not rest in any Hiigarian vessel's brig as long as I can help it.
Yoshi
27th Feb 08, 3:36 PM
Well Karza is getting ideas from other ships as well as then merging them with his own ideas.
EDIT: Thats if you actually capture the Rose, just because a Turanic ship has been captured before doesn't mean you'll succeed this time.

oh, and I might be transfering to this ship after the rubble in the nebula:
Sir Nigel Gresly
Class: modified Avatar heavy cruiser
Armorments: x3 triple heavy ion cannon turrets, x4 arbiter kinetic guns, x4 double medium ion cannon turrets, x14 anti-capital torpedo launchers
Info
Sir Nigel was an Avatar who's service could be tracked to the pre-Beastwar era. He was originally suited to fight the Qwarr-Jet class cruisers on it's terms, fitting four twin ion cannon turrets and two heavy gun turrets instead of six heavy guns. He as later pulled into a prototyping service, and refitted to acomodate the new equipment for the unified Hiigarian navy. With the outset of the Vaygr war, he as refitted agian, but this time for war. His armor was doubly thickened and he was given with his newest armement, giving him an impressive anti-capital firepower with armor greater than most produced vessels to date. Even with improved engines and significant agility (thanks to outboard thrusters), he is still a ponderous beast, relying on his thick armor to get into range. At best, he can fire uppon destroyers as they do the same, but Battlecruisers have him out-runned and out-ranged. With no hanger for escorts, Sir Nigel also has to require Carriers or other Battlecruisers to escort him, though standard interceptors and assault craft won't dent him.
[EDIT] I'm loving this. Ordar now wants Karza to be in the navy with him.

Well, now that I gave myself a few new ships, let me assure you all that probably nothing except maybe the workers and the processor will survive this expidition (and if we win, GawD, I'll give you plenty chance to escape without dying X_X ;))
Also, anything that survives except for the Caan-Var, the mimics, the acolytes, and the three hives, is going right back to Somtaaw HQ, I don't intend to permanently bolster my fleet size (workers and processor won't help anyways, and the cloaks will be nonfunctional, so its not like I would have any use for them anyways ;).

ROFL!! Give me a chance to escape without dying? You cant even hyperspace in or out of the Saluviika! At least not it you plan on having your ship remain intact. And If I come under heavy pressure, I already stated that every large ship would be moved to the slipgate where I have two options: 1. wait for reinforcements (which would take a couple hours), resulting in a prolonged siege as swarmers multi-beams arrived from the Fortress until a Needleship task force could arrive or 2. retreat and come back later without taking losses.
Also at this point, a few light flak batteries will have finished construction around the base. General layout =
Shipyard powers 2 double heavy rail-guns
off ship platforms in groups of 3, 2 flak one ion spread everywhere saturating the bases location. The railguns wont be online for a while, though flak and ion stations will be coming online as the BW progresses.
