I think one of the things many of us here would like to see is the CoH doctrines ported over somehow. Obviously not the exact thing, but something similar.

I was thinking about it, and was wondering if instead of doctrines being picked as the game goes, why not have it represent different 'sub-factions' that you pick at the beginning.

For example, you can pick a different chapter as SM. Pick ultramarines for a more typical SM structure, or perhaps Space Wolves for an assault force, etc.

Imperial Guard could do different types of regiments- a stealth/recon group (think the Tanith 1st and Only), your normal Cadians, an armored regiment of some sort, etc.

Anyway, just a quick idea I wanted to kick around.

This would also be a bit easier to implement than whole different factions/races, since the basics would be the same for each, just you'd get specialized units or abilities depending which you took that would have the flavor of the chapter/regiment/craftworld whatever.

While I'm not going to fault you for not spotting it (it was on the second page) we did actually have a thread (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=188320) about this a short while ago.

Your idea was suggested in there, although my particular preference is that the "doctrines" do not reflect any established factions but rather are based around the common playstyles of the general faction you opt to use. e.g.; Imperial Guard have doctines focused around infantry, armoured companies and defense rather than Cadian, Catachan and Kreig and all that.

This is why I suggested people, y'know, look around for threads relating to what they want to say before bashing that 'create new thread' button. The search function makes this even quicker.

Either way, we have a thread about this already, and splitting the discussion between two isn't an option. Kindly use the existing one, and review the section rules while you're at it.
