Question: Dawn of War II, a.k.a. PC Squad Command :(, is regretably due to release next summer as you know they will delay, so during this massive block of whispering what is relic doing really?
Discussion: Since it is not us mindless consumer's place to know, is there something that really goes on behind closed doors? I believe that since we know the visuals are seemingly set and ready to be placed on maps and the few units available, how long does it take to construct the basic through advanced elements of the maps, campaign, storyline, music, voice-acting, online mechanics, etc, etc? I also believe that after that, they will of course want to make us sit and wait and wait for the game while they "playtest" the game and "balance" it. IE get as much work done on the hype area as they dont on the "balancing". So, what really goes into balancing a somewhat new game that compiles elements of the games that are already made by different developers, IE Squad Command, WoW (RPG?), and DoW, WA, DC, SS, (maybe MoK and CoH we can only hope).
Though I look forward to the release, I am almost fiendishly anticipating the either really, generally, or damningly poor gameplay, or something decent. So, lets watch and see the hole or hill that relic chooses to cross. :spin: (hole = bad, hill = good)
