View Full Version : [Soulstorm] What's up with the music?

For some odd reason, the expansion music is of considerably lower volume than the original music while playing. I find this quite annoying, as you can barely hear one song while the next is so loud it drowns out all the other sound.

"Well, nothing a modder can't fix!", I thought...but so far I haven't had any luck. I found .rat files alongside many of the .fda music files, which contain a "volume" value, but this doesn't seem to change anything.

Extracting the .fda files and placing them in override folders just gives me a 'bleep' in-game, rather than the music.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Extract the "default.rat" in the music folder and edit that one's volume. Should effect most of the files.

Tried that, didn't work. I have no idea why not

I just removed all the expansion music for the time being. Is nobody else annoyed by the difference in volume?
