Is it just me or are infantry manned AT guns (Pak, 57mm, etc.) doing a LOT more damage against the Stugs now since 2.403?
A single 57mm AT gun took out my Stug (hitting its front armor both times) in two shots. Without using AP rounds! Isnt that a bit much? I liked it more when it took 3-4 hits to down a stug frontal armor.

I'd say you just havn't used StuGs in awhile and don't remember how devastat...ed... they are by AT guns, but 2 shots ? really ?

no way 2 shot kill it. not even with ap rounds
and yes, stugs front armor onyl got buffed vs shermans, cromwells and churhcils

I wish I had a reply saved. I was really caught off guard from it.
Maybe the AT gun was tripped vetted? I cant remember. I don't know if that would have made that much of a difference.

(penetrating hits in all cases)
3 hits from an AT gun = dead Stug.
(2 vet 3 OR AP shots) AND 2 hp damage from any other source = dead stug.
2 vet 3 AND AP shots = dead stug.
Vet 3 StuG (stug's now get a nice lot of bonuses) needs 6 penetrating hits to be killed.
However, vet 3 and AP shots vs. vet 3 StuG = still just 3 shots to kill.
However, in any case, StuG's should NEVER be killed by two non-AP shots ONLY.
So, I have to ask, is this a reproduceable event?
This is a slight problem. The StuG is meant to be fairly durable due to its armor, but weapons that ignore armor will kill it quickly. This is very noticeable with RR's against non-vet 3 StuG's.
This is only a slight problem because the StuG isn't meant to be a full replacement for regular tanks, and the StuG gets unusually large bonuses with veterancy.

No zzSleeper, vet 3 AT guns happen all the time.
Why just the other day when I lined up 7 armored cars and a panther and went AFK, BAM vet 3 AT gun appears.

technically it should always take 3-4 rounds to kill a stug regardless of how much damage the round does.
1 shot brings it down to half health.
1 shot brings it down to 5% health
1 shot critical destroy kills.
tanks usually need criticals to be destroyed. with out the critical the tank just constantly will absorb shots, and it is constantly refered to as a 5% bug.
unless if the weapon has a critical kill at yellow or green health then really it isn't all that possible to get a 2 shot kill on a stug.
It'd be pretty cool if you guys stopped trolling eachother.

2 shots seems unlikely. Was it damaged already? If the 57mm used AP rounds, it very possible the stug died in 2 hits if its damaged already. Any good US player will use AP too, since its basically paying for vet.

2 ap rounds from a 17 pounder do 450 damage to the stugs 400hp

I noticed that of all Tanks targeting vs AT guns the STUG has the absolute worse, it never seem to hit them at all even if the STUG would be ontop of it.

Well StuGs suffer from absurd vulnerabilities to AT guns due to tanks having low accuracy as to not be able to shoot them from the front and wipe em out in 2-3 shots. They can circle strafe them... the StuG can not.
I think it wouldn't be asking much, especially since it dies so easy to AT guns, to raise the accuracy versus AT guns to 60-75% for the StuG

Hmm, you may be right except that tanks really shouldn't counter AT guns, especially head to head. As long as we arent consistently seeing Stugs win shootouts with AT guns I'm happy.

Also if we are talking about flanking AT guns we are not talking about straight shootouts. Of course it is rather hard for a StuG to flank at AT gun. I have messed with the StuG just a little bit in the Beta, and it can be rather hard for the enemy to kill. I also did a playtest earlier with a dude (after he smoked me when we were playing legit, that was fun) where I made a vet1 stug and it TOTALLY ANNIHILATED an upgunned sherman. We tried it both with and without micro. We also found out some interesting things about tiger vs pershing, but that is for another thread.
The thing that was key was that my stug could keep backing up and his sherman couldn't get around well enough to reach my rear armor. A matchup with an m10 probably would have been much more unforgiving, but all that says to me is to have two or a shrek or two or maybe a pak. I think that next patch tier 1-2-3 may be viable in 1v1. It would be really neat if in a double wehr team one guy could spam stugs and pumas effectively with some nebels while the other guy waited and got the stukas and heavy tanks.
EDIT: My point is that just because it is very weak to AT guns doesn't mean it isn't potentially useful.
