Hey, I was just wondering... I heard from numerous people that the Steam version of Dark Crusade does not support mods?

Is this true? If not then how do you install mods for it?

I havent heard that myself, but the guys in our Adeptus Modificatus forum will be able to tell you for sure.

I'll move this thread there rather than have you make a new one.

You could try downloading and installing one yourself. There's no way for us to tell if none of us have the Steam version (I've never ever seen it mentioned, so I presume there are no problems).

I have zero problems with mods, with both DC and SS from Steam.
All you have to do is make sure you change the mods' default install directory to your installation of DC/SS and you're good to go.
(something like "Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\dawn of war soulstorm" or something like that)
Cheers!

I've tried the Tyranids mod for DC and it installed to my DC directory in Steam, but when I go to the Game Manager and switch to it, it says it needs to restart the game to allow the mod to be used.
But all it does is exit the game and nothing after that.

Is there supposed to be a mod folder? Or is the mod supposed to install to its own folder inside the DC main directory?

I appreciate the replies. :)

If it appears in the mod manager it will work. No idea why it won't restart, probably a bug since it's Steam, so it can't load itself directly.

Best idea is to use the command line parameters -mod name_of_mod - usually mods install shortcuts with this (try the AI mod for instance). The mod manager will still work - when you next start, it should be that mod that loads (look in the top left of the menu for what mod is loaded, or the game manager).

I just added the -mod command line to its steam parameter prompt and that fixed it.

Thanks. :D

Sorry, you're right, it is -modname as far as I'm aware. Or maybe both works. :)
