View Full Version : [2.408] Officer Off-Map

As the British, there have been a number of times where I've attempted to use officer off-map on a target. The red flares come down, the munitions is spent but the arty doesn't fire.

It could be that I shift-clicked the Lt. to a save distance, maybe out of range. In 2.3xx it didn't let you move the officer. But they fixed that.

- Commonwealth FOO Artillery will now continue to fall even if the officer is killed. Officer can now move after the initial 2 second delay.

I'd post in the wiki but I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it is intended. I'm pretty sure its a bug, because it sure as shit is a waste of 150 munitions to have nothing fall on a target.

I uploaded the replay. The specific one at the end should be falling on my buddy who's base is being raped. It should have come down on the 2 Panzer IV's in the Northern part. It sorta looks like a decoy barrage. Only it took my munitions.

It may have been fixed in 2.5. Or it may not - the patch notes don't mention it. Try it out after downloading it.

This bug was happening for me too with my British officers. I couldn't tell if it was a map-specific problem though. However, it's a major issue for a British player when it's present and needs to be fixed.

I've had the same issue too. I used a captain. Red flare came down but there was no arty.

I've never seen that, I have seen victor barrage do precisely what you say though. Is victor barrage whole map coverage or just supercharge range? If it isn't it really needs changing so that you can't expend its use by clicking on a point thats out of range.

I think it´s because offircers have to be in position for some secs for call in artilllery, if you don´t do it right only flare will be droped

Its a fix for an old "feature" where you could use the wehr officer and spam red flares all over the map and never cost you any munitions as long as you moved the officer before the arty came down(after the flares drop).

It was insane when used correctly because your opponent never knows which one of those red flares is going to drop real arty on him. Imagine decoy artillery with no cooldown.

Ok I'll make a post in the wiki about this.

In my humble opinion, the artillery should come down when the red flares hit, no if ands or buts.
