View Full Version : Voted out of a ranked 2v2? Both of us?!

Hi i was wondering, whats the situation regarding kciking people in a 2v2 Ranked AT, i.e kicking BOTH of the players on a team, creating an instant win?

Both myself and my teammate were convinced that it was the opponent who was actually lagging! We were 50.50 on the map, then we took the lead and pushed them back and suddenly it started to lag badly, they kicked my team mate - i clicked continue cos i knew i could still win alone and wasnt prepared to let it arbitrate incase they get a win. I told them this, then 1 min later i also get voted out and kicked from the game...

Should a team be allowed to kick both of their opponents? Does this arbitrate or does the game class it that me and my teammate have quit?

not happy really. replay attached..

I think the whole kicking people from a ranked game is incredibly stupid.

Oh, having internet problems? Screw you, have a ranked loss.

I've never had trouble with it, but the concept is just so stupid.

Yea that's retarded.

Almost as retarded as me and my random partner winning a game, and getting the victory screen, and when we return to the lobby, we have a 2v2 loss confirmed.

I really don't like how the system works. I've run into similar incidents where an opponent is lagging all game, which causes the kick box to appear for everyone. Suddenly a teammate or myself is the one getting kicked, not the actual lagger. Worse, the trust system thing makes me afraid to boot other people even if they are genuinely lagging the game to the point of unplayability. The system sometimes refuses to drop people after several minutes of total lag, yet other times will instantly drop people without even giving them 10 seconds.

I don't see why it doesn't work like Warcraft 3. If you lag out, you get 60 seconds of grace time. After that you can be vote kicked with no 'trust rating' penalty to anyone. A minute is more than fair; if your connection is lagging for that long you deserve to be removed from the game.

And worst of all, a dropped teammate means the useless AI takes over. This is an auto-loss in 2v2 most of the time.

If they kicked your partner, I believe arbitrating would result in a win for yourself.

It also depends on your hidden trust rating. From speculation; it goes higher if you play games without kicking anyone or dropping out. And lowers each time you boot someone/drop out of a game.

Generally, arbitrate the game, if they kicked your partner out it would hardly be the first time.

This sucks the most in automatches where you actually lose rank rather than team rank.

Just to clarify - what is meant by 'dropping out of the game'? i.e. can I safely just quit the Automatch if it's going badly instead of waiting to the bitter end, without my trust rating be adversely affected?

yes but if u choose to quit you will get the loss..

my trust rating is apparently not great, so i never want to let the arbitrator decide, hence i decided to continue playing to teach those kikcing scum bags a lesson, but they just kicked me too:/

What annoying me is that when I have 500 Vps to the other guys 88 Vps and am completely dominating the game and suddenly I get kicked.

Very Annoying.

My trust rating is shitty because evidently in one of the patches, at some point, when the netcode changed RO decided it hates my connection. Since then, in 1v1 games, it's hardly uncommon for me to be playing just fine, with no lag or problems whatever. None. And then, out of the blue, things lag up for ten seconds and then drop. Who is left with the dispute *and* loss? Me, naturally. So frustrating. I don't even get the 30 seconds and the kick screen, I just *drop.* And the rest of my programs are just fine. It's specifically RO.

The system is really flawed. I can remember about a dozen times where one of my opponents is lagging, but my team mate and I decide to be nice and not kick him at the first vote, only to get kicked ourselves a minute later.

Hm, how do you let someone arbitrate it? Do they watch the replay at the end? Or do they simply go by VP score?

Ballist1x

neither its done by a hidden calculator looking at a hidden "trust rating" for each player and then out pops the wrong decision.

usually..

Playing with a dude from Russia when somewhere in North America is horrible sometimes. You have no choice but to kick. It`s not the guys fault. It`s RO`s fault in letting EVERYONE play together, and not restricting games for players relatively close to each other physically.

Soooo many games ask to kick but I can play through them no problems. It`s the weirdest thing that the system just gives the choice to boot anyone! Or sync errors. Don`t get me started on sync errors...........

How can u find out your trust rating?

Funny, i posted on this a few times.

ve played 2v2 and had both of us voted out. Whenever theres a vote option i dont vote. I just hit continue and carry on. I could have voted them out everytime but didnt. Instead i (and once we) get voted out.

happened again the other night (i have a replay)

where we were playing 2 guys 2v2 AT - as soon as we started to really nail them, they began to complain. i said, dont drop, they said "we will", then proceeded to suddenly lag out the game. They kicked my teammate, i clicked to continue as the game was ours for the taking (dont trust arbitration), game continued to act as though it was having a seizure, then i got kicked.

the game locked for both me and my teammate (on the victory/defeat screen) stopping us from either properly saving the replay, and forcing us BOTH to ALt F4 out of the game on that screen.

im not being funny but my streak is at risk (and when you have a 53 game win streak on 2v2at its not something you want to risk to a double Kick+ arbitration).

Luckily the game actually gave us the win, or it didnt count, as the streak was not broken.

But come on Relic, this is potentially more gamebreaking than most of the issues i post about in here. Surely something needs to be done to avoid this.

There was Zero lag before they did this, then the game virtually stopped and allowed them to kick us both?! This is one of the worst exploits.

Yeah, until this is fixed this is precisely why I refuse to play Automatch games.

WOW... If people can physically lag out the match... that is just plain dumb and poor sportsmanship!!!

I once had two teammates drop from a match. I fought 3 players to the bitter end for over 2 hours playing solely defensively… that, and I repaired the AI’s bases twice. Ultimately I lost but it was a fun loss.

I had EXACTLY the same problem a while ago Ballist1x, game was perfect until we were winning, then without so much as a lag notice my partner got kicked, then i got a lag notice to one of the other guys and i got kicked. I havn't bothered with 2v2AT since tbh.

yeah this seems to happen almost every time now...

It sure is annoying, I get it from time to time also. 2v2 AT is still the fastest way to find a team game though and i have Hope that with the next retail patch relic will wipe stats(hopefully not the leader boards but Allies clearly have an edge in 2v2 AT)

Both myself and my teammate were convinced that it was the opponent who was actually lagging! It's peer-to-peer. If someone is lagging to you, then you're lagging to them.

Sadly the only real sure way to avoid being kicked with the current system is to kick the opponent/s first.. which is far from ideal!

(unless of course everyone agrees not to kick, but there are so many assholes playing this game you can never be sure)

It's peer-to-peer. If someone is lagging to you, then you're lagging to them.

but when a game runs fine, they start to moan. i say, "dont drop", they say, "we will" and then suddenly the game drops a $^&$$*£$, and my teammate gets kicked im guessing this is User induced lag that they know how to control, more or less at the flick of a switch.

then you are at the mercy of the Relic arbitration system thankfully i have built up a reasonable trust rep now (i hope!) after going some 400 games without kicking or voting to kick anyone.

Kicking also happens in 1v1 ranked matches also.

1 of my mates got kicked while he was dominating another guy I was watching the game and there was no lag... ces't la vi

problem is I don't think you get the chance to save the replay?

Ballist1x

you cant "save" the replay, but go to MY DOCS,Games, COH, Playback and take a copy of the "Temp.rec" file, as this is the last game replay.

I tried that and it saved a different replay
*Edit* oh wait it did work.
