Expansion Announcement?

Come on Relic - isn't it about time a new expansion was at least announced? The community has waited a long, long time.

At least drop some hints or clues or something, lest interest wain and gamers attentions drift off to other titles. Give us something to look forward to in the CoH universe.

We haven't waited a "long" time. What the heck are you on about with that? Some titles only get a single expansion - in fact, I think most do. It took years for BroodWars to come out for SC and that was the last expansion for that game. Truthfully, I think expansions can be over done, especially if they can't first get the current game done right. Just look at what happened to DoW.

Hilander: Relic are probably focused on DoW2 right now. Opposing Fronts is probably the last expansion. And as Pyro mentioned, there's the patch... :beer:

You are wrong, Do you think Relic has only one Developement Team? No. They have atleast 3. 1 For DoW2, 1 For CoH and 1 For something else.

Do we really need another expansion just yet? I don't think so, and besides without changing the setting I don't think there's much material for another expansion.

Additionally, expansions tend to bring additional factions/units, which wreak havoc on game balance, we're still ironing out issues from OF and until that's done there no way that talk of an expansion will go down too well with the competitive playerbase.

Brood war game out within 2 years of Starcraft. If another CoH expansion is going to be made or CoH 2 even well then... think after DoW 2 is launched unless you want 1 crappy expansion and 1 buggy game to come out at within a few months of each other.

Didn't you see the video with the developer saying that Relic wants to show as many aspects of the war as possible, and the guy said there could be so many games and possibilities, that it would go on for a long time. I mean, hell, we haven't had:
Russians
Japanese
Pacific Americans
Canadians/Australians/Brits
Italians
Minor Axis (Romania, Bulgaria)
Chinese

And then, maybe a few more German groups, maybe a North African British and German.

Plus no one ever thought of: COH: Vietnam. South Korea and America vs. North Korea and Viet Cong. Lots of possibilities.

This forum isn't an official avenue of communication with Relic so there's very little point in posting this here, and I'm pretty sure you're aware of that. Locked before it devolves into random vaugely-related offtopicery, as it has already started to do.
