[SPORE] Relicnews community Sporecast(now just "link your Profile")

Hi spore fans!

Seem as Spore (http://www.spore.com/) is coming out tomorrow (in europe, and on the 7th in the rest of the world) i thought it'd be nice to throw a RN sporecast together. And possibly follow it up with more (including buildings etc..) at a later date, or add just add more to the original, depending on how they allow you to construct and maintain a sporecast.

Okay. So, for now (seem as the site dosen't seem to allow casts to be made at the minute) just list your accounts home page (the url will be: http://www.spore.com/view/profile/<Your accounts name>) and some of your creations that you want to be added to it. Only practical one's please(Basically, if they have no legs and arms, there's not really much point in adding them), we want them to be usable in-game :D

In the end, we should have a nice little selection to play about with by release.

Now... GO!

EDIT: I only want user profiles so i can buddy you all, and therefore, e-stalk you all, by the way...
Edit2: Oh, and this is all WIP still it gets going.


Edit3: Further down the thread you'll notice it's been decided to just post spore pages, as a spore cast seem pointless when you can still have everyone's creatures used, and not go to all the trouble. So just link your page now.


Of course, feel free to link any creations you still feel are of note.

Setting people as your buddy seems to work really well in making it select their content first and foremost.

I'm playing the game without checking out the creators beforehand (i.e. standalone) so I made my orange carnivorous the hard way through the creature stage. Twas quite fun though :) I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to this sort of thing, but I'll certainly diversify later on...

Only thing that annoys me with the game is that it won't run on my dual-video card setup, have to switch to single card setup to run the game :| Still, the rest of the game is impressive.

How is spore? I want to get it, but I heard the first 4 levels were insanely simple, and space was a grand-god game that had little stubstance. I liked Black and White, but it did get boring after a while. I'm not big on spending hours modeling ships and buildings, so maybe its just not my style... How does everyone else like it? It it fun or does it get old fast? Do you spend most of your time on styling things, or actually playing? I wish it had a demo... :)

Try the GD thread. But, to answer your question to my best ability. Yes, yes it is insanely fun.
The initial stages are simple, yes. But they are also very entertaining. Simple is not necessarily bad. Look at ~flOw~. And they continually step it up until you reach space.
Whether you want to spend time styling things is pretty much up to you. If you don't feel like making everything yourself you can just choose something from the sporepedia and use that.

It's very much fun, and you do spend most your time playing (unless you insist on creating a unique set of buildings for each and every colony).

Yeah, that's probably it BmB. It is odd how it doesn't share the cells, though. I was hoping to see how some of those ended up as well.

Also I like how you can paint your creature with the colors of giant warships you find online. It's what I did (then edited it)!

I'm not sure what you expected considering how those modes were touted as very casual RTS games so people who suck at that sort of thing can make some progress in them. I enjoyed them at any rate.
