So, now that many of you have played the beta (waitining till 28th here), can anyone tell me if there are hard counters present? If so, what are they like? Vanilla DOW 1 style (various infantry and vehivle armour types, with different weapons having different penetration on different armors - read anti-heavy infantry, anti-light infantry and so on...)? Or something different?

I've read somewhere that vehicles can actually be taken out by normal (not AT) weapons, although by more than their cost of these? Is this like 2x the cost of the vehicle or more like 10x?

To use an example: Bolters fired by Tacs do 1 damage to a Dread.

Considering a Dread and a Tac squad cost the same in Req, the Dread could probably take on 5 Tac squads and come out just fine.

There seems to be infantry and heavy infantry, with tooltips noting that plasma is effective against both. Some infantry also seem to be designated as "light infantry", although presumably this is the same as infantry generic.

Ok. It fits my tastes then. Kinda the same as vanilla DOW in this regard I guess.

Set-up teams murder infantry. A 345 Req HB Dev. squad can take on 5x it's Req in general infantry. They suppress almost instantly and at that point, units do practically no damage and don't move. It's like an MG42 in CoH, except all the set-up teams are this way (none are underpowered, really).

Set-up teams are obviously countered by flanking or jump troops. Right now, the issue is that that general infantry is rendered useless because the support troops, set-up teams + jump troops, beat them in every way.

As for armors, you can tell Tacs are in a different league than Scouts/Sluggas/Guardians. They have a lot more HP but they also don't take as much damage.

Terminators are Heavy Infantry and even set-up teams do very little damage to them. Bolter rounds might do 8-10 damage (when they usually do about 25)

Scouts with shotguns are a hard counter to any kind of melee units. In my experience they make short work of my Kommando, Storm Boyz and Sluggas. At the same time.
