After losing a 3v3 the game crashed to desktop while loading the score screen. After trying to restart the game, the main menu was slowed down to a crawl; around 1 fps. I didnt try to launch a game and I quit.
After a computer reboot the game was still just as choppy.
Deleting configuration files from Documents didnt have an effect and neither did changing settings ingame.
All right, after reading some other topics I realized I had disabled steam community in game just before the game that crashed and caused these problems. I re-enabled the community and the problem went away.
