Anyone think the warlock reverse warp throw then etherial slash ability is a little too effective on orks for how easy it is to get?
It's inescapable, and can displace and kill shootas and lootas and simply gib the sluggas. I feel kinda bad using it. If you get a destructor in beforehand there is simply no hope, you can single handedly anhilate all the ork infantry with massive inescapable area damage.

Sounds like a pretty slick combo. I haven't really run into it/used it, but don't you need tier 3 for the Ethereal slash?

No, Tier 2.
And if he's keeping all of his units together, then don't feel sorry for him. Also, it takes AGES to cast.

Looks like they are gonna axe this tactic with the proposed changes

How do you figure?
Warlock
Warlock providence now affects ethereal slash cooldown.
Warlock energy drain on merciless witchblade reduced to 30 per hit from 60.
Warlock witchblade of kurnous cost increased to 125/30.
Warlock warp throw power cost increased to 45.
Warlock warp throw recharge time increased to 45 seconds.
Warp throw just costs more to get and has a longer recharge. The tactic would still work perfectly in my estimation.

that combo takes alot of energy to pull of and i think ethereal slash has a long recharge

Indeed. I don't think it's imbalanced at all. It's expensive, and slow but exceedingly effective when pulled off under the right circumstances. These seem like reasonable trade offs.

not to mention you actually need to land the warp throw... that thing takes a while to work, your orks have to be pretty entrenched and not moving.
Moving units are no bother, just gotta anticipate their movements.

My bad Noble, i read the power requirement as energy.
Well if no one thinks I'm dirty for using it thats a whole lot preferable to a nerf!

And if he's keeping all of his units together, then don't feel sorry for him.Ork Waaagh! ability becomes more powerful with more Orks in the radius, and given the melee nature of many of their infantry, it's kinda inevitable.
That said, Warp Throw is also great for trapping and killing an expensive Tac squad, so if there's any problem here it's with Warp Throw, not the player it's used on.

On the downside, the Warlock as no AT ability whatsoever.
