Can somebody list out who would win if the starting units (commanders included) of the various factions face off with each other? IMO, this is highly relevant strategically, because you don't know if you should retreat or fight on should the 2 of you meet at the same point early in the game.
Right now, it seems apoc beats all other commanders 1v1 using heal, except for the warboss and Hive tyrant (I think). Against Warp spider exarch, I'm not too sure because they keep teleing around, its difficult to fight fairly.
One thing I'd like to know first tho, do guardians beat scouts?

do you realize if you use probabilites, how many 1v1 line ups you could match up? In math that would be X!
Where X equals the number of units + units with abilities (i.e. Sluggas + WAGGH, 2 Sluggas + Waaagh). I would be easier if you played 20 games or so against the AI or human to obtain your results.
To answer your last question, if assuming no upgrades nor interference, guardians do beat scouts in a range fight. I assume guardians would win if set on melee attack.

Well, I was referring to unupgraded units at the start.

force commander would be strongest, i believe, with big mek #2

Um there is no big mek in DOW 2. Just the Mek Boy.
And the Warboss in my encounters eats the FC alive un-upgraded. So does the Hive Tyrant.

Apoth is getting a nerf in the patch, so hopefully his unruly ability to murder people unfairly will be removed.
