View Full Version : Help with placing turrets

I'm fine with placing turrets in multiplayer, you just build it and turn its facing. But I can't seem to get the hang of placing turrets in the campaign. They just shoot out of the sky and face the completely wrong direction. What do I have to do to get them placed properly? Screwing up the placing almost cost me a Defend mission on Meridian.

I'm having this problem too. It seems that, no matter what, the turrets face north. You can check which direction north is on your mini-map.

However, sometimes the turrets seem to be able to fire everywhere, regardless of their facing. Other times they're restricted to their arc of fire. It's baffling. It's also very frustrating that there's no way to face them.

It seems pretty ridiculous if they only face north. Cause of the 2 Defend missions I've done so far, both have had my base in the northern part of the map.

Same. It's pretty stupid. In these cases, the only purpose turrets serve is to simply divert enemy fire for about 20 seconds. I think it's a bug in need of fixing, because no amount of fiddling around seems to change their facing direction.

Campaign turrets have a 360* firing angel.

They will turn and fire at anything in range, and handily don't snap back to the default position when the target is dead. They do turn slowly but will fire on things outside the marked area.

dont worry we all make that mistake
first time i notived they turned the whole 360 degrees i was so reliaved that i didnt just waste some turrets

I had the exact same question and almost posted on the main forum, when I noticed your thread here. Seems like if they have 360 degree coverage they should get rid of the incorrectly drawn firing arc which shows up when you select them. Thanks for the help guys.

Its a 180 firing ark MARKER however... surely that would be a give away? :P

It would also explain why they had to fix the MP version at the base that was firing as 360. ;D
