I'm not a whiner, so I'm not going to post another "NERF TYRANIDS" thread. I just wanna know whats the best tactic against Tyranids? I dont want tips from people trying to just "solve" this question, I want real answers form people who know they work.

Early game 3x sluggas can be pretty effective. You have to focus on blocking their tech. This can be tough on larger maps.
I've been testing out rocket boys jump pack upgrade as an alternative to stik bommas. They do nice dmg to all squads in the aoe and make a nice dent for your boys to finish on.
If they are getting out a lot warrior spam on you youre not teching fast enough or capping enough.
Anyone have counters for specific nid tactics and abilities?

starting army kommando nob, 2 shootas, slugga, stickbomba.
upgrade the stun nade for the stickbombas. then as you get the power, get upgrade to big shootaz.
When he tries to charge you. toss your kommando nob nade in front of your guys so he runs into it. follow up with stickbomba bombs. then charge your melee in. toss the stun bomb at anything ranged and proceed to mop up squads so they can reinforce.
ignore heros. costs more to replace a squad than a hero.

warboss with spiky armour, go mass melee with him 3x sluggas and 1x stikkbomma, keep using stomp for every engagement, u will want all the AOE damage u can get.
get gens and t2 after stikkbommas, keep nading his generators at the mean time. rush out a deff dread and push accordingly. u wont need TB at all because nids dont have anything armoured until carnifex.
get klaw after then have warboss take out warriors, does excellent damage by that time. deff dread will soak and deal damage to anything the nids throw at it.
t3 then for nobs or looted. nobz if u are on equal grounds, looted tanks if u find that u do not have the numbers, for example, losing a couple of sluggas or stikkbomma etc.
then only then get 'eavy armour for the warboss, trohpy rack/im angry watever.
i find this tactic great against melee or ranged nids. however early and mid game is crucial, u must not lose squads to him. u need to make sure to use nades to whittle his numbers

Actually, Tankbustas have an absolutely great anti-Nid ability, their rokkit barrage. It can fire from a good distance away and have enough AOE and damage to disrupt any nid swarm coming at you.
If you're fighting a Ravenor commander, take the time to kill any tunnel you find, it's free XP/WAAAGH power and denies him mobility. If you let those tunnel accumulate all over the place he'll have so much mobility you won't be able to hold him back.

WHen should I nade his gens? I am very focused on efficient resource gain and I don't want to throw my game off. So after how many cap points would you suggest?
The moment you get something to nade his gens with would be optimal.

when u get stikkbommas and he has a gen, thats all. basically, nade them as early as u can. however, dont nade gens over troops, u would want to win a battle 1st, push up then nade his gens.
1 barrage per gen

hmmm, my nid opponents dont bother much with teching, they just spam warriors.
my tactic is to harass and make sure to not loose any units early and tech to tier 2 as soon as possible, getting killabot and 1 or 2 buggys for harass (with sluggas from earlygame), then 2 squads of TB (their rockket barrage is GREAT). then spam killabots and finish him.

I've only played one game against a good 'Nid player since the beta ended, but the strategy I used in beta seemed to work fine.
Commander: Warboss
Build Order: Sluggaz, Shootaz, Stikkbommaz, Burnaz on one Slugga squad, Tier 2
At tier 2, if your opponent masses a lot, go for Tankbustaz; they'll be useless in the direct fight, but fantastic for bombarding VPs and taking out gens. If your opponent doesn't mass much, take out gens with your Stikkbommaz and Burnaz and go for a Deff Dread instead; keep the Dread with your commander at all times, and make sure you immediately tie up any VCs you run into with Sluggaz. If they go Adrenal Glands, make sure you hold your Stikkbom throw for them; Stikkbomz are great for throwing on your Dread, since it will take almost no damage from the resulting explosion.
Tactics: Involve your Warboss in every fight you can; at higher levels he can solo three Hormagaunt squads easily, even under synapse (using stomp). I usually use the Hammer, Spikey Armor, and the boss pole versus 'nids.
Float your Stikkbommaz between two VPs; when one is attacked, order your army to it, 'nade it, then wait for the army to show up before engaging if more than a unit or two is left after the boom. Float most of the rest of your army between the other two VPs, reacting to attacks appropriately.
Termagaunts under VC synapse are a pain in the ass, but can be dealt with using a Tankbusta barrage, grenades, or suppression from Big Shootaz.
If your opponent is doing the Ripper cap thing, upgrade your other Slugga squad with another Burna.
Note I'm not the best ever at this game, but I think I'm pretty decent. Good luck. :salute:

i dunno about rocket barrage, getting tb against an infantry army just for the barrage seems off =/

Again, I ONLY get the Rokkits if they are massing. I've taken out a squad and a half of gaunts with one barrage firing blindly onto a VP.
