Simple question, can you purchase the game online, from Steam or D2D and then install from a retail copy of the game instead of downloading?
My basic situation is my town sucks. There's only one place that sells games and they sold out of DoW2 rather quickly. I'm experiencing "The fierce urgency of now" and want to get the game as quickly as possible as my weekend is up and coming.
The mail here all has to come in on plane, and thus sucks and takes a week or more unless I pay far out the ass. Then I get double teamed by the terrible internet. It works fine with good pings for online games, but it has Nazi-like bandwidth limits and massive penalties, so actually downloading the game is out as well.
My only hope is a friend, who managed to get one of the few copies available, hence my question.
