I'm averaging just over 1 crash per mission at the moment. I'm finding that the majority of crashes are actually in the level up screen, or the campaign deploymnet screen; sometimes in the "end mission" click throughs.
Can't guarantee it, but seems like a memory leak - it seems that if I take too long in the level up[ screen (for example) the likelihood of a crash increases.
