View Full Version : Is it just me are Eldar way more powerful than the other 2 in SP?
All my squads are level 20, and wheneve i get a few maps against the eldar, i get seriously owned, they seem to kill my troops really fast with special attacks. Orks and Nids are soo much easier.

Pretty much. They have better (and spam more) heavy weapons (platforms), Warp Spiders can probably teleport 20+ times in a single fight, Seer Council/Warlocks do absurd damage in range, one-two shotting even Terminator squads.

Glad it wasn't just me that noticed this. Warp spiders don't seem to have any limitation to how often they teleport, angering me to no end (especially on defense missions). And the seer council just take the blinding piss, they are ridiculously tough and (as has been said by konfeta) take on termie squads fairly evenly.
Makes me feel that much better when I slaughter those pointy eared gits...

A well placed stun grenade, Assault Marines, and Dreadnought's stomp really puts Warp Spiders in their place.

Well, it certainly fits the Eldar's "just how annoying can we be" motif.
That said, the council oneshotting really screws with the afterplay statistics.

all this is why im waiting to buy the game, a few balance mods should fix all that up. that and it looks a little bit too much like endwar or full spectrum, wich were total fails for me. i do like the rpg elements thogh, thats a nice touch.@konfeta, i love that article you have in your sig. i dont go on cracked to much but after that i just might. sorry for getting so off topic.
Aren't the Eldar suppose to be the most technologically advanced race in 40k and have the some of the most deadly psykers? It kind of fits them IMO.

I basically leave all my sentry guns near the generators to supress the warp spiders when they port into your base, they can't do anything then.
The rest of the eldar you have to deal with agressively. I normally use thaddeus's assault terminator squad to tank and to push them back always moving Avitus into range. Since Thaddeus can't really be harmed due to his invulnerability, i can just keep porting forward while Avitus with heavy bolter is focus fired and suppressing everything in his line of sight. I find if you just try to turtle, you'll just get overwhelmed as their units just mob you. Cyrus i use for sniping at the balanced one shot units, blind grenades and melta bombs for the big guys in the last 2 waves. This strategy also applies to the other 2 races in SP campaign on Primarch as well and if i'm careful, usually means 5 resilience/speed/fury scores. and umm... fc in support :/
Necrons are more advanced. But yes, other than them the Eldar are the most advanced race, it fits, the campaign is meant to be fluffy.

Sorry but the campaign and game in general shits all over the fluff, at least as far as the harder difficulties are concerned.

This is a very effective tactic, Thaddeus is an excellent counter to the seer council due to his invulnerability. Unfortunately I think I'm on a slippery slope to nowhere with my current campaign, I failed a significant amount of defence missions, mainly due to Eldar and now I just can't seem to take any ground back, due to having a lack of foundries for deployment bonus'.
I'm not sure what relevance this has to a section that essentially amounts to 'beginner questions', especially when the opening post is basically a statement.
If you need hints on completing SP missions, I suggest checking out the Objective Complete, or creating a thread in the strategy section if you have a more general, or more specific, query.
