Is it just me or does every race that I want to play suck once I touch them? For example.. I was just playing a match with a SM FC.. I did the usual thing, got Iron halo, Thunder hammer and the second armor.. When I was attacking another FC with the same setup, he regained Energy, I did not, HOW is this possible? He had no backup and neither did I. He still won.

My scouts versus his scouts, We both had shotgun scouts, I do not believe that he had a commander for the scouts, I was in light cover and he was also, we were about 1 inch from another on the screen, His scouts killed mine in a few seconds, He still had half health.



With Tyranids this is the same thing, I have used strategies that I have learned from here, build orders also.

One on one comparisons are not always the best way to compare units. Units like the FC and shotgun scouts have chance knockback which will determine who wins the match and by what degree.

These things can't be predicted but you can support your units to reduce the chance that you will lose.

The other possible factor is that his units were higher level than yours.

Pretty much what TASK3R said. Scouts have a 15% chance of knockback with their shotguns, and sometimes whoever gets knocked back first loses.

Accuracy is always a factor too. Cover reduces incoming accuracy for your units (meaning they have less of a chance of being hit), and so it can be up to chance when you get damaged or not.

Higher level is always a big thing. If his FC was even one or two levels higher than you, I wouldn't be suprised if your FC got creamed.

To add to the points already mentioned. If his force commander had the first armour choice, Artificer Armour, then he would have won given everything else equal. The second armour gives you the sprint ability and makes him faster but the First one makes him tougher over all.

His squads may have been a higher level than yours.

Just play a race that you like and get good at them, pretty soon you will win your encounters with mirrors.
