Behold, SkarmoryThePG, a one-trick pony, the one-trick being one true commander kit that just so happens to be perfect for what I need for it. Anyway.

To work on an achievement, SkarmoryThePG decided to play an Ork Mek one day. Cue Carnifrex. Cue panic. Cue swapping out Deffgun for a shinier one. Cue small green tick and free downgrade back.

...wait, what? When did they put that in? I don't recall it being in beta. Who can benefit from that? Anyone?

All commanders have always been able to swap out gear :)

Yes; that was in the Beta too

Normal units (and their sergeants) have permanent wargear. Commanders all have interchangeable ones

Yes, but, for free? I was under the impression you have to rebuy it if you want to swap it.

Well, the way I saw it work on the Mek is, you can "rebuy" any upgrade you already had for free, just have to wait the timer out. I was wondering if that was a Mek thing or something bigger.

Yes, you only have to pay for each piece of wargear once for the commanders (and obviously the green tick denotes wargear you've purchased but are not using). Heh, I only noticed this the other day too, so you're not alone. :)

It was a one-time cost in the beta. There's still the time interval between changes, however.

I was not sure if the full version changed the payment requirements of previously used Wargear either, I am more certain the green tick indicating purchased upgrades is a new feature.

edit: the Mek Orc has a gun to harass Carnifexes with ?

I too only noticed it when the green ticks appeared in the full version, then noticed that there was no cost.

Commander wargear is interchangeable. if you choose to change wargears mid battle, your previous wargear will be free to puchase back only requiring a few seconds change time.

Only the wargear which is not internchangeable is Squads individual wargear peices, as often most of them are just upgrades, And the Force Commanders 'Terminator Armor'+accessories wargear peice. that perminently applies Terminator armor to your force commander, and what ever weapon you choose is perminently afixed to his arm.

Moving over to basic training.

The green tick is the only new feature. In the beta you could swap your gear out, there just wasn't any HUD indicator showing which gear you had already purchased.

Well, some testing later, I'm happy to report some microing and a comparative pittance lets my damage aura Ravener also serve as an off-miner. Especially since the Burrow Traps are limited by energy, not by recharge.

Mm. Remind me to edit OP to make it more informative.
