View Full Version : Are the Ultimates stronger now?

Have you recognised it too? The Eldritch Storm and Tyranoform appear to be stronger. Can anyone confirm it?
I can confirm that I have noticed them any stronger. I've had multiple Tac/ASM squads survive both.
Tyranoformation is still seems underpowered to me. I wish the tendrils shot up faster or shot up all at once. At present, its too easy to dodge and even when it hits it's not incredibly powerful. I know it is cheaper (650) and has a persistent synapse aura around it but it is lackluster, to me.
OB is still the one to be feared, Roks can be very deadly because it comes in so fast (and over such a large area) and Eldritch either gibbs everything or throws them out of the damage. Nids get the short-end of the stick here, but I don't think many are complaining that Nids are underpowered in one area. :P

Tyranoform is very inconsistent from what I've seen. With the right aim (or I guess luck/a bad dodge) I've seen it instantly kill... well anything. Once dropped it on an enemy squad, which moved, and an allied ASM unit on pretty much full HP retreated past it- and died to the last man.
At the same time I've seen it kill pretty much nothing.
Same goes for eld storm- it'd almost always kill a vehicle, but it seems very random what happens to infantry.

I'll never forgive you for that either. Also you forgot to mention the two (minus sergeants) Tactical Squads that were also retreating through that mess too. Of the two full Tactical Squads and full ASM squad, only one Tactical survived retreating through it.

I have a 3v3 replay in the replay section and in it I had a razorback, a tac squad, and an asm squad that got hit by it. I tried to get them away but seems like wasn't fast enough. The razorback died, I think the asm squad died, and the tac squad had about 1/10th of its health left.
Interestingly, that same razorback survived a direct eldritch storm earlier.

The damage does not appear to be changed from the previous version to this. (1.1.2 > current)
Each tendril from Tyrannoformation does 300, with a few 50's thrown in.
Eldritch storm does 200, 125 and 50. In order from start to finish as far as I can tell. There's FAR more 50 hits than the others.

Hm, okay. This could be the difference. I also think that the radius of the tendrils is a bit bigger. I have move a warrior squad out of range or better I thought I did it - Bang - Warriors down ... :-(
