I've never played Company of Heroes, but the new subselection system introduced this patch sounds good and worth trying out. Could anyone give some general tips on how to use it? Making small control groups and then controlling them with sub-selections or just one large group and then tab-order, tab-order, tab-order? More importantly, how do you quickly find out where on the field is that Hormagaunt squad you just subselected? And most importantly is there a hotkey for quickly subselecting all units without tabbing through them all?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have only played a few DOW2 games with it on now but I played many COH games and it was an outstanding feature in my eyes. The way that I utilize it is usually just situational. I play a lot of eldar now and with my guardians that are running in one direction i might select all of them and then click on each portrait (at the bottom not side), therefore subselecting them, and then tell them to end up in different areas of their final destination in order to spread my forces out.....this command is being given as my units are still moving just so happens that now each unit will end up in a different place.
I also use it a lot for abilities, guardians as an example again, if they all have battle equipment then i can select them all and then subselect them and tell each unit to throw a nade to a different area. I have read that using the tab key is also very effective but I dont use that.

The main difference is that before if you selected all the units together and then clicked an individual portrait and gave a command then every unit selected would do that action.

Also make sure that you are accessing the options menu and turning this feature on as Ive already seen 1 thread today stating it was not implemented.
