Actually... i do know lots of fear because what i have come to notice is a tactical spam butt-rapes an assault marine spam.
I had 4 squads of fully decked (with sergeants) Assmarines and he had 4 Tacticals all with sergeants, 2 with plasma guns and 2 with missile launchers. I Assault jump them all into his mass and he turns on "And they shall know no fear" and tear apart my assault marines. Why do tactical marines deserve to tear apart assmarines when assmarines cost more? And how do i beat a tactical spammer with assault marines? should i not build them? or should i just build 1 squad and tactical spam from then on?
(unrelated) and also, sometimes my hive tyrant burps bio-plasma when i order him to target an enemy, he starts the "charging up" moment that makes the ability have to recharge and takes the energy and the enemy moves around the corner, thus making him not fire it and him having to recharge both the ability and the energy.

No fear is a pretty awesome ability and makes tactical spams quite hard to beat.
a couple of things to take into account is the level tactical sqauds, they usually last quite a while and a being level higher than your assmarines really gives them an advantage.
If your going for this approach try to engage all tactical squads or the free sqauds will just shoot the assmarines down.
personally i wouldnt have gone for this approach its quite costly in resources. counter tactical spam could be effective. teleport commander and warhammer to get in close and break up the sqauds could work or scouts with grenades.
however the guys over in multiplayer could probably give you better suggestions.

on tyrant what you describe sounds about right. im guessing this counts as a missed shot but the visual effect does not match what you expect.
on a related note this thread amuses me for using the words "butt-rapes" and "assmarines"

ATSKNF is fine. what were their levels? what were your levels? compare. also, what were your commanders doing?
you should have seen ATSKNF before the nerf. now at least they have a debuff to melee damage of 60%.

Well, those tacticals were all around lvl 3-4 and my guys were around lvl 2-3 so i guess that is maybe why. Also, i found this funny trick of getting advanced heal with apoth, running him in the middle of the whole battle and using the super heal so my guys are getting healed as fast as they are getting damaged xD
And i'm heading over to the battle barge now for strats and tips.

Resource-wise, it's an interesting matchup. A fully upgraded Assault Marine squad will run at 680 req, 65 power. On the other hand, a fully upgraded tactical marine squad will cost you a minimum of 650 req, 45-55-65 power (flamer, plasma, missile, respectively). Now, Thunder and Lightening isn't going to help your Assault Marines at all, so realistically the costs should run around Assault Marines 650/50 to Tactical Marines 650/45-55-65 (req, power).
Factor in the temporary boost for ATSKNF, and the tact spammer has an advantage, particularly if he has a force commander using battle cry, which can significantly improve the effectiveness of nearby allied units. Two main ways of avoiding getting ATSKNF-ed is to attack tier one, before sergeants go out, or avoid the tacts for the short while ATSKNF is activated; it's not as though they're going to go crazy capturing points while the ability makes them near-stationary is active.

I was just talking about 4 Squads of full Tacs (all sergeants, 2 squads with plasma and 2 squads with launchers) vs 4 squads of Assmarines (all with sergeants and thunder and lightning because you usually will have thunder and lightning as a precaution) my guys all at lvl 3-4 and all their guys at lvl 2-3 and we jump into them, they activate "no fear" and rip my guys apart. But now that "There is only Beta" is out this thread is redundant.
