The buildings in the north of Angel Gate are bugged. They cannot be targetted by grenades. Place a unit inside them, and you are effectively invulnerable. If you put plasma devs in both the north buildings, you cannot lose the north point.
Strongly recommend no one play this map as it is a waste of time.
Bumping this. Has anyone else tried it?
It's because the units are higher than the range of the grenade, it seems. I had Scouts in there earlier tonight but nothing threw a grenade at me.

I was using blind grenades. Those can only target buildings. You just can't hit the buildings.

I once moved my whole damn army to intercept 2 devs stationed there and to my awe I could not even target them while they happily obliterated my whole infantry... yep, bugged like hell.

Hey, check it out! Someone completely missed the point!
Walk a flamer up to one of those, smartypants. With a bolter and a plasma in each, and their firing ranges covering each other, the flamers won't even be able to ignite before the squad's dead. Your only chance is a grenade, and those cannot target the building. It's as though it were a cliff.

Again, you're missing the point: the map is bugged, and that's not a thing we are expected to fix with gameplay.
I'm also not sure if you read, but a single grenade isn't going to do crap to 2x devastators in a building. You'll get at most 1 guy.

Have you tried throwing a grenade next to the building? As long as the grenade's explosion hits the edge of the building, the inhabitants will take full damage.

Take THAT you all non believers! FEEL what I had to feel (with other nid players out there) when trying to defeat garrisoned big building with Tyranids!

Hopefully the buildings will get patched by the end of the beta.
Otherwise the map is unplayable since a VP is right by the damn building and setting 2 devs there renders it uncatchable :puppy:

I play nids, too, Grim. It wasn't karmically delicious to run into the problem again. It's familiar and frustrating.

For what it's worth, "Use Zoanthrope" is actually pretty good advice, but I hear ya. I was pretty sore each time I'd pop a double dose of spores on a big building and only kill 1-2 devastator squad members.

What about plasma devastators vs those buildings? With some spotters you should kill anything inside.

I suppose it could work, but then again, he can shoot back. Usually that's what I would do, but throwing a blind grenade to make the outcome certain. Without that piece working, it's kind of a bummer.

We shouldn't be discussing tactics to beat building that don't work like regular buildings, we should be saying, hey these buildings need to be fixed and moving along.

I just tested out some other things on Angel Gate. You can't really fire on those buildings, that is, orders to attack it don't seem to work. Bolters seem to hurt guys inside, but nothing else really does. You can fire to ground with plasma devastators, or roll in a tank, but the plasmas do nothing, and the tank's bolters are the only damage that seems to count. Grenades don't hurt them, blinds don't fire. Flamers don't work (the bolter guys appear to some damage). Snipers will fire, but it seems only out of choice, you can't click on the building.
Interestingly though, you can blow the hell out of Angel Gate itself. You can't go beyond it, but it's awesome that you can take it down!
