View Full Version : 1.4 beta grid keys?

So, I can't really play the 1.4 beta to the full, without grid keys... I'm just so used to them.

I was using Sturmtruppen's Grid Keys, any idea if/when the version for 1.4 beta is going to be released? Or maybe OctoKeys?

I wonder if there are many people with the same problem, and how did they handle the situation?

Trying to convert the new keybindings with octokeys to sga but Corsix mod tools and the archive.exe of Company of Heroes both fail on me.

Well that is to say, not sure yet how to use the archive.exe to specify which files need to be included in a buildtext. Mod tools won't run properly here.

Your wish is my command.

It's an early version. Tell if anything is missing or in the wrong place. All the new stuff from 1.4 is missing from the keydefaults file so I had to add it all from what I could remember, and I haven't played all the races yet. I know of one bug: the horma adrenals use the same letter as the tyranid adrenals but they are in different spaces. There's not a lot I can do about that as they use the same hotkey_name. Sorry.

Thanks!

edit: the stuff below is an error, I downloaded an old file.
Noticed small bug, in the module file remove the reference to 1.3.2.sga and the numbering below.

[data:common]
folder.01 = GameAssets\Data
archive.01 = GameAssets\Archives\OctoKeys.sga
archive.02 = GameAssets\Archives\1.3.2.sga
archive.03 = GameAssets\Archives\GameArt_DELTA.sga
archive.04 = GameAssets\Archives\GameArt.sga
archive.05 = GameAssets\Archives\GameArtEnvironment_DELTA.sga
archive.06 = GameAssets\Archives\GameArtEnvironment.sga
archive.07 = GameAssets\Archives\GameArtEnvironmentTextures_DELTA.sga
archive.08 = GameAssets\Archives\GameArtEnvironmentTextures.sga
archive.09 = GameAssets\Archives\GameMaps_DELTA.sga
archive.10 = GameAssets\Archives\GameMaps.sga
archive.11 = GameAssets\Archives\GameDefault_DELTA.sga
archive.12 = GameAssets\Archives\GameDefault.sga

should be

[data:common]
folder.01 = GameAssets\Data
archive.01 = GameAssets\Archives\OctoKeys.sga
archive.02 = GameAssets\Archives\GameArt_DELTA.sga
archive.03 = GameAssets\Archives\GameArt.sga
archive.04 = GameAssets\Archives\GameArtEnvironment_DELTA.sga
archive.05 = GameAssets\Archives\GameArtEnvironment.sga
archive.06 = GameAssets\Archives\GameArtEnvironmentTextures_DELTA.sga
archive.07 = GameAssets\Archives\GameArtEnvironmentTextures.sga
archive.08 = GameAssets\Archives\GameMaps_DELTA.sga
archive.09 = GameAssets\Archives\GameMaps.sga
archive.10 = GameAssets\Archives\GameDefault_DELTA.sga
archive.11 = GameAssets\Archives\GameDefault.sga

otherwise game will crash upon launch

What? No, I edited that bit out of the module, I just copied over the one I'm using in the 1.4 beta. That's really odd. Can you check it says "1.4" at the top please?

I've re-uploaded to the same link what should be the right version. Maybe it got mixed up with the last 1.3.2 version.

EDIT - also, I think the same applies to scout shotgun ability, it has the same name as the kommando shotgun ability, thus the same hotkey. Bugger.

***RELIC****: could you please give each thing a unique hotkey name (horma glands and scout knockback so far) so they can have unique hotkeys please!! Also, you might want to add them to the key defaults list too if poss. Thanks.

It says 1.3 in the octogrid at http://mods.octopusrex.co.uk/OctoKeys.zip

Maybe you uploaded the 1.4 one at a different spot?

So does it work?

Well I've re-uploaded it when I last posted as I said, and this time it's the right one.

This is odd. Everytime I downloaded it with Chrome it would give me a 1.3 package form 19/05/2009. It works fine in Firefox though, I got the 1.4 file now.

Sorry for the confusion. Remind me not to use chrome for file downloads again.

Really? That's odd. I use Chrome too, and checked it through Chrome. Weird. :confused:

THANKS Octo!!! :Hail: I owe you a beer. You don't happen to live in central/eastern Europe, do you?

This is why I love these forums. You can always count on people helping you, and especially the modding community. :grouphug:
