Control Point Victory help

i am currently playing AI on normal before i start playing online, to get my skill up. on annihilation mode i win with relative ease but on Control Point Victory i lose. can anyone give me advice? should i go straight for the CP or other points first?

Always cap every resource point while going for the VP. Try to defend your power plants while harrasing enemy power (raze they're whole plant). Power is top priority. Depending on the race you either should stay a little in t1 or try to tech to t2 as soon as possible (1.4). In 1.3 always try to tech :D. Try to defend VPs after you have enuf resources/big enuf army to do so. In team games you can work with your teammates and its much easier. Ninja cap with cloacked units if u can.
