A few questions

Hullo. I just got DoW 2 and figured this was the best place to ask some questions.
I have two.

First. Is there a way to change the difficulty of the main campaign, during the campaign itself?
I started on Captain/Hard (that's correct, right? Because mine only says Hard...) and I am finding the game a bit too hard for my liking, so I'd like to try Sargeant/Normal, but I don't want to start the whole campaign over.

And second.... why is Games for Windows LIVE, so retarded? It says it can't connect, because it's not available in my region (which, in all fairness, is BULL****). I live in Slovakia, middle of Europe, and I have to use an offline account.
On that note, can I gain ranks in skirmish even with the off-line thing? Because I won't be playing MP any time soon, it seems...

there is no options to alter the difficulty level during the campaign afaik.
you can always look at the mod section for enable ranked wargear in custom games.

Hi Tau22!

I live in Hungary and I can play online without any problems. One solution is that you set the account region to another country like the UK for example.
I hope this will work for you!

That's the problem... I already have it set to the UK, even have a GamerTag... I don't get it.

EDIT: Also, it seems I had edited my normal LIVE account.
The Games for Windows LIVE somehow automatically detects my country... not cool.
Why even let me register, when I can't frikin' use it in-game?!
I want achievements...

Another problem by me was that the GFWL didn't like my e-mail because it has ended ".hu". Then I tried to register with a gmail address (with ".com" ending) and that was ok.
Maybe this is your problem?

Edit: I just read it: when you're making a gamertag make sure that you are on the UK site of GFWL and not on a localized site.

I can reinforce Pexo's statement about the e-mail address and the account as I live in Hungary, too! Yay for us. :p

Welcome to the forums!

When you play ranked games online every win or loss gives you rank points. You get more for a win than you get for a loss. When you accumulate enough rank points, you go up a rank. When you reach a certain rank, you unlock a certain piece of armour for one of your units. This is only a cosmetic change.

Thanks for the info, been playing Offline for the moment so this was completely out of my radar. However, instead of making me want to play online more (well, just a bit), it makes me wish far more for an Eldar(/Ork/Anything) campaign.
