Portent Screenshot Thread

As the previous poster suggested, I found some pics in a thread over at portent.net.

Hope this doesn't violate any forum rules or anything, but it's taken me a while to find screenshots so I thought I'd let everyone know where I found 'em.

Gotta say, that if those are in game shots, this game will be unbelievable! Thanks relic.

Hmm...personally, I don't like those orks. :blah:
They're a little too cartoony for my tastes (I know it's already been discussed). I prefer big, mean, dark green Orks.

The marines look good though, can't wait to see some Tactical Dreadnought Armour :)

hmm those scans are alot brighter then the actual pictures in the magazine but even in the mag the orks r a bit bright. devs said that they needed to brighten the picture for the magazine so u could tell what was what. those r some nice sculptures, i especially like the wolf guard terminator.

I can only wish that Relic's final result on Dawn of War will be something similar to that style. Because I'm NOT waiting this long for another fairy tale-RTS.

Yeah, I was shocked when I picked up PC Gamer and looked at the screenies.

I mean, it's got a weird, but interesting, style, but I would much rather see dark and gritty, like the cover art on all the boxes. THAT'S style. ;)

WOW that terminator looks as if it's real. Remeber all though, those are just the first 2 screenies we've seen. The game could look much different if we actually got a nice good screenshot in maybe some gothic city.

Sorry for being cryptic in my first post. I'd read elsehwhere in the forum that directly linking the images was bad because of PCGamers copyrights. I've just checked, and you can find the images in the the thread if you search for 40kdow1.jpg and 40kdow2.jpg.

uh orks r the comical relief in 40k.. they r supposed to be funny and u can find many ork players wanting orks to be humorous in this game.

The Orks of Warhammer 40000 as opposed to the Orks of other universes (from what I've gathered) are a different sort of funny...

They don't tell poo jokes, they don't do prat falls and they don't call each other fat. They fight and they drink and they kill.

Their version of putting a "kickme" sign on someone's back would probably be to bury a Chopper in it and laugh as he falls over, blood squirting everywhere. "Now whose the meanest?" He might say. To him its not a joke, he's being completely serious, and that's what is so funny to us humies in the 21st Centruy.

It's their uninhibited brutal nature that evokes a laugh... or at least it does for me.
