Installation Question

I just purchased the complete DoW package through Impulse.

Since I'm just installing, I have the following questions:

- Will the expansions (DC / SS) recognize the old installation, so I get all races available? Impulse doesn't give out any CD-Key or such, that I have read are necessary?

- Do I install DC / SS into the same folder as DoW and WA?

I'm not sure how exactly Impulse works, but I'd expect that if you have the previous games installed (DoW and WA) you shouldn't need to enter the CD-keys since you don't have them (like Steam).

DC and SS are stand-alone games, so they are installed in their own folders, separated from DoW and WA.

Yes, it seems Impulse adds the keys where they are needed.

I had hoped that DC could be installed in "expansion mode", so it doesn't take up a lot of unneccesary space on the hard drive. :(

How is the game manager supposed to work? All it lists is the game I started anyway. I thought that I could use it to switch between expansions, in order to play the old campaigns through the new executable (as DC allows higher resolutions than the older games).

Game Manager is not used to switch between expansions, sadly. It's used for switching between mods (if you have any installed).

DoW and WA does not have perfect support for widescreen and I'm not sure about higher resolutions. DC and SS, as mentioned in my earlier post, work separately from DoW/WA apart from using their CD-keys for playing the earlier races online, so you would have all the space on the hard drive. However, the game plays quite differently in DoW/WA so you might want them separate to try them out anyway ;)

Yeah, I'll probably keep DC and SS around - SS because it seems the best mods are for that, and DC because the campaign seems to be better. ;)

hey... about the mod manager.. in dark crusade how do u get ur mods to show up in them... because i really want to play Table top round up mod :awesome:
