"Courage damage"?

I found references to "courage_damage_squad_modifier" and the like in several places, like here in the synapse effects: http://www.gamereplays.org/community/index.php?showtopic=554162

AFAIK, there is no courage/morale system ind DOW2 as it is in DOW1, or am I mistaken? Is it just there so it can be implemented later and does nothing currently?

courage damage suppresses units (i.e. shuriken plats, heavy bolters,...)

I thought I read that suppression is a fixed condition? How does courage damage work then, i.e., what is it counted against?

The term courage can be used interchangeably with suppression. 0 courage means you are suppressed.

Ah I understand, so taking sustained fire can also cause suppression, but the "suppression" weapons are especially effective in that matter. Thank you!
