Please oh Please let them be included and let them be phenominal. Some of us are huge Psyker fans. Especially us Ulthwe and Tzeentch players who are heavily dependant upon it. Please oh Please. Psychic powers.

Theres no way theyll leave out phsyic powers.
I hope they have the Daemon Hunters in there too!

the third edition of warhammer 40k totally killed psychics. What's in the game atm moment is pretty crappy. If any of you have played Chaos Gates(based on 2nd ed - when I started) there are two pages of psychic powers... for ultramarines. Think of tzeetech and eldar who are strong psykers.... it would be sick and I'd love it!

I'd really love to see them make a little spectacular mess on teh battlefield. I don't even need a lot, I'd just like to see the ones out there be impressive.

i think the reason they were cut down was for that reason, they made to much of a inpact for just one or twp people, i would like them to be included, but not in the way they were in 2nd ed

You should see the amount of powers in the first edition!
So how did they mess them up in the third edition? I stopped playing just before it came out.

they didnt mess up, you just dont have the huge nul wars anymore, just like you take a leadership test to fire a magic weapon, or gain some abilty, or with a force weapon kill someone outright if you woundered them but didnt kill them, and im sure many people dont miss the gate when facing a space wolf army with ragnar in it ;)

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

yeah, anyway back to the powers being the game, i wouldnt like them to be so powerful so to turn the tides of a entire battle like in warcraft but more of a stat booster/stat reductor for enemy/ protection for characters and lords, mybe have one that recharges very very slowly but when used erupts a warp storm around the enemy.

anyways, that isnt what 90% of the powers i have used do, so why change them to be like nothing that key races use, all they are like fire weapons, part for the blood angel one

OT: BTW Maximus Decimus thanks for the email. I tried to reply but it rejected.

Back On Topic: How would they work though in a RTS? And in game how does the tides of the force (or whatever its called) affect it?

DarthFelth
18th Feb 04, 4:21 PM
i guess it would have to be a attack option, like a attack mode, or perhaps a auto attack thing with a chance of being raped by daemons

I gotta go find my copy of Shadow of the Horned Rat to see how they did magic in realtime.

DarthFelth
18th Feb 04, 4:52 PM
that was player was on a timer with like a build up over dots over a few minutes and powers required x dots, that works fine

Maximus Decimus
18th Feb 04, 7:58 PM
BTW blood angel no problem.

they could always handle the psychic powers like they do magic in warcraft and i think its pretty well handled there.

If ( guess that should really be a big IF) the Eldar are in it I'd like to see some type of Fortune, Conceal, Eldritch storm, Destructor, and Mind War representation. Even a Wyrd boy for Orks calling down Gork or Morks giant ectoplasmic foot to squish enemies could be great!

isnt this a fantasy move only? i was under the impression it was. what i dont understand about 40k is lol that why havnt the 4 major gods destroyed the feeble minor gods such as gork and mork? i know khaine is a ally of khorne so that rules him out of it but what about the rest

blood_angel
19th Feb 04, 5:27 PM
Yeah they are in 40k, and the spell/power too.

DarthFelth

Gork and Mork...feeble? There are far more followers of Gork and Mork than of Khorne, they're called Orks, and they outnumber you 10000 to 1.

As an avid Ork player I can assure you that our gods are no more feeble than the mass of green that will be the end of all you silly humies.

Following the fluff, though, Gork and Mork are actually not minor gods, they're rampaging nightmares the 4 powers do their best to avoid. Its not that the green brothers are more powerful, but the Chaos gods got stuff to do, and wrestling with a 100-foot tall green guy somehow doesn't make it into their busy agenda.

Further fluff, in theory nothing that exists in the Warp can truly be destroyed, especially when fueled by thoughts from the material world. You'd have to annihilate all Orks (good luck with that) to even have a prayer.

And on the psychic stuff, it used to be a big part of 40k in second edition, almost as much as fantasy. In some of the fiction psychic units are still quite powerful, but in the tabletop the only army that has any decent psychic power is Chaos, and even they're stuff is few and far between.

googled a bit.

is this gork? (http://www.visualmyriad.com.au/conceptualproduction/img/gork-vm.jpg)

and is this mork? (http://www.nastyz28.com/gallery/1979/mork.jpg)

anyways, i don't think them sissy chaos gods got a chance against either of them :F

I demand to differ (as begging is completely out of the question)! While Chaos is quite powerful on the table top, Eldar have a much easier time of being overpowering psychically, and no one can really hold a candle to the Ulthwe Seer Council... an infinite sized squad of psykers.... who loves ya baby. Eldar are and should be the MOST powerful psykers on the table top with Tzeentch as a close second and everyone else trailing distantly behind. Even Tyranids make great use of psychic powers in their current dex. As for my mention of Gorks or Morks foot, 2nd Ed, Dark Millenium had a foot template for when you cast that power, of corse the Wyrdboyz head could always explode as well....

When will u look at the games annuals and codexs
the reason the space marines only have smite is because its is seen as heresy do u now how come most psykers are hunted down and killed is because of this, sisters of battle and ordos hereticus are because of this fact.
Eldar have plenty of powers an the same with chaos, if the game had too many powers it just slow it down
If u want lists of power go play fantasy u fool

nah Tzeentch are far more powerful, and a Tzeentch Lord can have a nice big body guard of psykers, also Tzeentch armys have all these nice wargears to stop yay even casting you powers and making you suffer attacks from nasty warp monsters, and dont forget that Tzeentch Sorecers also have very good stats to back erm up and have some very nasty squards to back erm up (thousand son marines) also thatt tzeentch always pass their psyhic test also gives them yet anouther advantage

Fair enough. I actually have never had the displeasure of seeing these guys fielded. The Eldar armies I've played against have been very 'unconventional'.

I reckon that psychic powers should be more powerful on certain races Eg The tyranids are a weak-minded race with the exception of the hive mind who controls them all and since most of them have no real control of themselves than they could be easier to kill/take over with psychic powers.

Anthonace

some races (Eldar) may have to rely on their psykic powers to win the fight while tyranids may ave to pick the right broods for the job

DarthFelth
28th Feb 04, 2:00 PM
i dont think eldar would be required to rely on their psykic powers at all to win
