In my excitement earlier, I forgot to link to the Gamespot Most Anticipated Games of 2010. You can do so here (http://uk.gamespot.com/special_feature/most-anticipated-2010/photo-gallery/index.html?image=86).
Scroll through the Space Marine screenshots to read what Gamespot thinks should be in the game, why they are looking forward. One thing to add, there seems (?) to be another screenshot they added at the end. Either way, there looks to be a lot of customisation ability, simply looking through the screenshots. Anyhow, take a look :)
Another thing, it states TBA 2010. Probably an error on Gamespot's behalf.

Split this off into its own discussion.

Try and read the OP sometimes, it helps. :p
Also gorays, Fiscal year 2012 could theoretically mean after next April.

What was the name of the FC from Dark crusade that returned in DoW2? Davian Thule? I'd so play as a guy like that, some oldcrazy bastard killing xeno scums with a heavy bolter.
It would be cool to have all the hero's from the old games and mabey have diffrent heroes from each chapter which you could play as, and also put in an army painter :)
I think it would be cool to play as shrike from the raven guard, (BEAST) :D

Unless Relic makes the Chapter featured in the game into the Blood Ravens, it's unlikely that there will be much of a link between this and the Dawn of War series. Last I heard, the Ultramarines were a placeholder Chapter at the moment (since their color scheme and iconography is relatively easy to pull off) but I don't necessarily see Relic going with Blood Ravens in this game even if that is the case. I get the feeling that "Space Marine" will be intended as a separate franchise (if it does well, of course) so that fans won't need to know all of the fluff of the Dawn of War series to appreciate the characters.

I think it would be cool if the Blood Ravens made a cameo appearance in the game. Like since it is a forge world the orks are attacking, it wouldn't be uncommon for multiple chapters to be fighting at the same time.

From the chapter aspect, I actually hope we go into a chapter different from Warhammer DoW series. BR belong to that series, this is something new, so therefore, the chapter should be new. That's just my opinion by the way, you can disagree with me (if you dare) ;)

I wonder how feasible it would be for Relic to create a second unique chapter. Since people feel the Blood Ravens are so strongly tied to the Dawn of War series (a sentiment I fully understand), how would people feel if Relic made another chapter for their OTHER Warhammer franchise?
Assuming Space Marine is successful enough in a number of ways to warrant its own lifeline, having it's own chapter could be interesting.
It would firstly sidestep any worries of using Ultramarines, or any other arguably overused chapter, and provide something Warhammer fans have little of - a new chapter we know nothing about, and that we can learn about.

I would be more than happy to see a new chapter in the game... though it would be up to GW, really. I mean, they're the ones that gave Relic the Blood Ravens in the first place; they seem to be happy with how the BR's have turned out so it's possible that they'd create some new chapter for Relic to use in Space Marine. Might also explain the use of the Ultramarines as a placeholder, if GW wasn't sure yet who they were going to let Relic use (or if they were creating something new for the game.)
