View Full Version : Pure Campaign Completion *SPOILERS*

If there's a thread about Corrupt completion, might as well have one for Pure completion only.
Having beat the GUO with nary a speck of corruption in my squads, I got to see Gabriel rallying the loyal Blood Ravens and making me Captain of the Fourth Company. But now I want to know what happens next. Kyras is apparently corrupt, and the loyal Blood Ravens will try to take him and the corrupt Blood Ravens on. I WANT TO SEE HOW IT GOES!
Actually, this kind of seems similar to what happened with the Dark Angels...

a plot twist by relic?

Maybe, or maybe just "inspiration".
I was thinking, maybe they can introduce the IG in a new expansion, and have a campaign where you and the pure Blood Ravens take the fight to Kyras and the corrupt Blood Ravens, and have a regiment of IG, commanded by a General of some sort, help alongside the Pure Blood Ravens.
That would be epic.

Actually, making the FC captain of the 4th Company *may* hint at a shift in gameplay (larger scale) and continuing the storyline in DoW3, making campaigns for other races in DoW2 xpacks. Making the 2ng xpack add IG and creating a campaign with new mechanics based around them (for example: levelling up and equipping not individuals, but whole platoons) could actually be pretty awesome.
But in all probability I am wrong. :p

Or, they coulda made our 30 bucks stretch father then a this short campaign by actualy adding, you taking the fight the currupt chapter master. You know actualy making doing that, you know making a bigger campaign for your fans who spending 30 big ones. No seriously they coulda just added that, i wonder why they didnt... I was ready to kick the chapter master ass after fighting the GUO.

Perhaps a dlc that adds a few more missions set on the ommnis arcanum vs the corrupt blood ravens?

That would work, too, having it as a DLC pack for CR players to continue with a new mini-campaign.

OOORRR add in Inquisition faction, because NOW it makes sense that they like to follow BR around. Also where is the Khorne daemon that was released by Gabriel?

What if that Khorne Deamon is in league with Mr. Chapter Master? You know Relic and their universe of plot twists up the wazzu.
Also, if this isn't going to be a DLC (WITH MORE SPACE HULK), then they really need to add the IG as a playable faction. Yes, i know, i'm like everyone else, but the more we say it on Relic's forum the more they (hopefully) understand that if they do not comply we can come and get them like we did Valuve with TF2.

@ kdebones - I lik the idea of the chapter master being in legue with the daemon.

Considering the fact that this is a spoiler thread I won't hold back . First and foremost I still can't believe they actually added Abbadon's image in the outro :D . It's absolutely epic. Maybe games workshop will let relic use some more important characters from the Wh40k universe. And kyras's image dubbed by a set of marines that looked as if they were going on way of Nurgle was epic. Though I'd have to say that not the whole compaign rocked as I imagined it to rock , the space hulk mission and especially the last one were pure epic .

Word about what is going inside that chapter WILL go out. Then =][= will drop in to say "hi".
Witch Hunters? GK? There are so many things they can do with DoW2 story now. I can't wait.
And that Abby *sqeee*

While they may have used Abbadon in the ending, I doubt he will actually do anything in any Relic campaign. The last thing Games Workshop wants to do is let Relic kill off one of the most important characters in the current story. That's their job, so if Abbadon is going to die, it won't be in a video game.

considering that eliphas has died two times in dow 1+2 i think abaddon will be back more times than the devil in the exorcist.
As for dlc they should add more space hulk missions :D 3 is not enough
Out of curiousity did anyone find another way end the honour guard mission without killing the boss man? (the medic told me he wasn't chaosified yet just prouder than the average space marine)

for the honor guard mission: i got avitus's artillery master trait (the signum and termie cyclone missile launcher become energy based) and bombed it back to the 21st century (and i used my FC as a damage sponge, got this lightning claw that gave him immunity to ranged damage) :)
for the expansion of the BR situation: i think theyre giving us a good setup for introducing the chaplain who (IMO) is way more badass than the librarian. im hoping the inquisition shows up(maybe even a return of toth? im sure angelos would like a few words with him :D ) maybe even have tarkus have a new trait with him being in the honor guard(IMO thats kinda where his ranged tree is going). be cool if they held onto the pure / impure choices,as if to joke with the marines(yea, i toyed with you to get to captain so my corruption goes even further, now die :))

Yes, considering the objective explicitly stated to kill the base and not the boss.

I ignored the slow jumping boss and pounded on his HQ instead. He lived after that and the ending is affected...

I played it pure the first time and spent my time attacking Diomedes. When he was about to die I got a cutscene in which my forces managed to convince him of my point of view, and he let us go.
It didn't even occur to me to try and kill the HQ. Probably because of the "boss health bar" the game provided.

Same here. Even though I attacked and beat Diomedes, he lived, let us go, and is now working alongside myself and Gabriel. Maybe it depends on how Pure you are, whether or not he lives through the fight?

hmm. I destroyed the HQ and left diomendes alone but still gunned him down in the cut scene. Given i had no corruption bar that mission (accidentally killed a scout when a building got destroyed)

I think you'll gun him down if you kill a BR in the mission aside from the corrupted ones.
I just dropped an orbital bombardment on the HQ, and the range on the ability is so far that you can sit outside the base and still bomb it. He let me go afterwards.

I killed Blood Ravens (by accident, the range on the Remote Detonator's explosion is insane) during my playthrough of that mission and Diomedes survived.
That said, I did focus on the HQ and didn't even bother touching Diomedes himself. I don't know if that has any effect or not.

I was 100% pure and Avitus gunned Diomedes down :(

Interesting. I totally ignored the HQ and pounded on Diomedes, but still ended up converting him to my cause. When I got him down to around 10% HP he gave up. I managed to not kill any Blood Ravens and had no corruption at all.
Did those of you who got the bad ending kill Galan beforehand?
Ifitmovesnukeit
17th Mar 10, 11:34 AM
I killed Galan both times I did the mission so far, but one was the pure playthough I mentioned earlier where I managed to avoid killing any innocent Blood Ravens, and the other was a supercorrupt playthrough where I simply gunned down Blood Ravens to get at Galan and Diomedes, and Diomedes ended up getting killed by Avitus who later turned out to be the traitor.
