See the Relic.com (http://www.relic.com) Website for a blurb, and two fresh screenshots of the game!

Wait, if the main single player campaign involves Blood Ravens, why are Ultramarines in all the pics?
Can we conclude this is just pic from some scripted cutscene? As theres no indicators, health bars, cursors or anything at all that says its from actual ingame.

The shots in the other thread and on Relic.com are a pair of the exact same shots we gave to PC Gamer for their article. They are not from a scripted cutscene. We turned off all that other stuff so you could focus on the carnage. :)

Looks very, very, very nice. The geek side of me that liked warhammer, I thought it was dead, but I think it lives again once more.

ultramarine chapter was just the look they chose for the pics since relic has this really cool habit of keeping things quiet. so i doubt we will actually see the blood raven chapter stuff til after e3.

Wow, look at the level of chaos in those screenshots. They've got the graphics right at the very least.

The Inquisitor looks alright as well.

Ultramarines are in the pics because when we started modelling and texturing marines we had not created the Blood Ravens chapter yet.

And no, its not a cut scene, that's the game. Those screenshots are taken from us throwing a bunch of marines and orks at each other and letting them do what comes naturally. :) We've turned off health bars and UI for a 'more cinematic view'.

HEY! Don't 'tsk tsk' us! :)

While it is similar to a Crux Terminatus there are a few minor differences that distinguish it separately. We actually talked about changing it more, but hey, its just a concept image.

Just because it looks like a crux terminantus doesn't mean it is one.

Who doesn't? Speak now
that pendant looks close to a crux termanatus but its not as if its illegal for an inquisitor to have one

EXCUSE ME! Why the heck does he have Inquisitor Lord Coteaz Torquemeda's Hour Glass?
That is pretty specific to Coteaz.

An hour glass is a pretty generic object. Maybe he's a Coteaz fanboy?

SoheilsX

have you read the fluff on coteaz?
That hourglass is kinda like his personal symbol, he used it to make a point when another inquisitor lord said that they coudl study a daemonic artifact. Coteaz destroyed the artifact right there and a while later, the other inquisitor was dead.

Gabriel Angelos?

I'm not religios, but this name - Gabriel Angelos - gives me some ideas. :)

It's a quite talkative name, isn't it? :) Maybe it has some loose reference to Archangel Gabriel?

http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/saintg03.htm

"You should be aware that the word "angel" denotes a function rather than a nature. Those holy spirits of heaven have indeed always been spirits. They can only be called angels when they deliver some message. Moreover, those who deliver messages of lesser importance are called angels; and those who proclaim messages of supreme importance are called archangels.

And so it was that not merely an angel but the archangel Gabriel was sent to the Virgin Mary. It was only fitting that the highest angel should come to announce the greatest of all messages.... So too Gabriel, who is called God's strength, was sent to Mary. He came to announce the One who appeared as a humble man to quell the cosmic powers. Thus God's strength announced the coming of the Lord of the heavenly powers, mighty in battle. "

Maybe the plot includes the "Numen" somehow?

Heh let the 40k background arguments commence.

Most of the line art done by GW themselves in Codices etc. is inaccurate. I'm sure we can allow relic some artistic liscence.

It is probably a Rosarius. A Crux Terminatus is usually part of a shoulder pad. The difference, I believe, is that a Crux Terminatus contains a refractor field and a Rosarius contains a conversion field.

Hmmmm yes, that shield on his chest. What would that be? it seems he is very close to a terminator, especially the grey knights, who pwn by the way.

folks the key thing to remember here is that its concept art.. i mean who knows this could of been one of the pieces relic showed thq and gw to prove they had the universe under control. or since many of the staff are big time fans of they did this drawing for fun.
