How about edting ur own units before battle?? Not making new ones but to change their equipment as u want. Like arming Space Marine Tactical with heavy bolter instead of missle or plasma gun instead of flamer etc. It would prolong life of the game if there would be such posibility. Same with tanks i just cant imagine 2-3 tanks per siade with no options in armament.

In the faqs or some 1 posted that you can customize your squad.

According to the developers, you will be able to customize the units AS you requisition them. Meaning when you call in for another tactical squad, you choose what equipment it gets. Probably the same as the other units, and the commanders.

From Shadione(Jay Wilson):

Like the table top game, some squads can have a defined number of heavy weapons in the squad. The player decides what loadout they want in each squad, and can mix and match from a variety of heavy weapons as they see fit. The exact heavy weapons depend upon the squad type, and race. Some races and squads are more or less versatile depending on their role.
So there you have it!

ahh, thanks... this is great news (though probably old news for most of you)! ;)

Hmm, I wonder how that's going to be implemented in the game. How easy will it to be to pick and choose what all your marines get when you need it the most? Imagine yourself storing up a ton of reputation points and find yourself about to go into a big battle, or being sieged by the enemy with a need of many units fast, is there enough time to call in reinforcements with the right equipment?

Maybe you will be able to make your custom squad config as default so whenever you call them they come down equiped as you assigned unless you order otherwise.

Seeing as how the game is based off of the IC engine, I believe they will implement this, perhaps being able to create preset squads ahead of time that you can call down, and then (at your own risk) making custom ones during battle. And if the unit or equipment they have is not available yet, you just wont be able to get them until you reach that tech level (like IC). I think this would work as long as the tech tree system is solid.

i just dont wanna see in this the one configuration owns all/will cost more points for better stuff
like a devastor squad with nothing but plasma cannons should cost more then a devastor squad wtih nothing but missile launchers

Well, if you look at IC, the better stuff you gave your created creature, the more resources he cost, and the higher tech level you needed to get him. Knowing Relic, they are not just going to let you go on a P.Cannon spree without paying a substantial cost for it.

I think it works perfectly for 40k, because since they are using requistion instead of resources, it makes sense that you would have to have a lot of requisition to bring in something like a Landraider, where you would have to hold an objective long enough for something like that to be called in. You rule Relic! :D
