Okay, I was expecting to receive this weapon after having killed the Plague Champion boss in the "A Brother's Return" mission, but I didn't. I need some clarification; is this weapon a random drop from lone Plague Marines who spray their Nurgle-marked flamers at you or is it only from the Plague Champion Boss in the aforementioned mission? Can any character who can use a flamer use the Pestilent Spewer as well (the FC, Cyrus, and Thaddeus, the last two of which require a certain amount of points in their Ranged stat to do so)?

I don't like how Relic left us with only one save game with no way to retry earlier missions to get different loot if you didn't like what you got last time.
Does this mean I will have to start all over again (on Hard) if I want this weapon? :banghead: I suppose this means I will have to be careful and keep back up saves in a different folder this time.

There's something else I've been looking to do. I want to try and make it so that I can use Tarkus and his fully-powered Blighted Bolter/Power Armour this time around (and NOT lose him to treachery, so I have to corrupt someone else instead) but I'm having trouble corrupting Cyrus, because Cyrus uses a fairly unique set of wargear that drops less commonly (it'll be even harder to corrupt Jonah in my view given his very unique set of wargear--about the only thing of Corrupting Wargear that he shares with the other characters are Bolt/Plasma pistols). Anyone got any pointers here?

can't help with all of your question, but..
i can tell you that, yes, any character who's able to equip Flamers can indeed use the Pestilent Spewer, as it functions (in terms of equipment reqs) the exact same way. :)

Hope you solve the rest of your problem..
I've had the PS drop from A Brother's Return every single time i've played thru CR (which is at least 5 or 6 now, all bar 2 being on Primarch...maybe the difficulty has something to do with drops?)

Not sure why that's happened. I've always got it from the PC, even when pure. It is quite a good one. Good on Cyrus, with green immolation now possible. Also good on ranged FC, though other options probably better there.

You can corrupt Cyrus with various wargear that comes up. Leave him out of the scout mission (that's good for 5). You can corrupt everyone to some degree by using globals. A good way of targeting the traitor is to get everyone to max corruption but not everyone to maximum experience level. So when Cyrus is at full corruption, leave him on the barge. If Tarkus is also fully corrupt but level 30, Cyrus will be marked instead.

Unfortunately the tool-tips don't explain just how much the Corrupt Global Abilities actually add to your corruption scores for your deployed squads. Is a flat increase for every ability?

+1 for each global. Corruption offset makes it poof very quickly, though.

I tried it, and yes, the Corrupt Globals do increase Corruption score by one, but I'm surprised that Relic didn't make it so that more powerful abilities increase the corruption score by more than one (such as Unholy Revival). However, using corrupt abilities is the one form of corruption that is NOT erased by clicking the "End Mission" option before you complete it, or losing all your sergeants and going through an "emergency extraction."
