I was wondering if there are any rules here concerning the posting of copyrighted material eg. Stats, special rules, point values. Most of the other 40k related boards clamp down pretty hard on this kind of thing.

I was wondering more in the specifics of this forum ie. how strict will the mods be, possible punishments, that sort of thing.

if its pointed out to me that someone has posted that type of material i will probably just delete the post in violation and thats it. will not recommend any type of punishment for the person in question, unless higher powers intervene.

Until we get an idea from relic, if (and that's a huge if) they can give us a site wide copyright nod, meaning we can use images without having to watermark every one of them, and instead place a copyright notice at the bottom of the forums, there will be no 40k images posted on these forums. That includes avatars and any future forum skins using 40k concept art or UI material. Any further posting of material which you described, will as soul has pointed out, be deleted aswell.

This will most likely extend to any in game screens that are posted on these forums, meaning that any future press releases or future screens that appear on these forums, that may be used for strat or just merely to gaze at the beauty of the game, will be deleted if they are not posted with the all important GW copyright notice.

Frustrating doesn't even begin to describe this situation. But hey if we can deal with Sierra and all thier marketing wierdness I'm sure we can work through GW's. I'm sure that getting the game to the fans and trying to increase the player base without any imagery at all will be no problem.
