I saw this over at Kotaku and I thought I would share it with you guys http://kotaku.com/5709874/this-space-marine-footage-feels-like-a-punch-in-the-face.
At first I thought this could be a promo trailer for the original space marine by THQ australia since the cg studio is australian and it has a chaos space marine which was supposed to be the main enemy in that game, but then again I don't think THQ Australia got to the point of development to get a trailer but I could be wrong.

Oh man, that's nice. The footstep sound effects are way overdone, though.

Was just watching the trailer again and if you stop it at 0:11 you can see that he has a Crimsons Fists badge. :err:

I noticed that too and that is why I decided to make a thread in the Tabletop section rather than here.
I line of thought: "Crimson Fists? A guy who looks like Pedro Kantor? Oooh nasty punch. Kotaku must have got it wrong."

In addition before the reformat of the site there was a thread about some pctures on the Wax site that had sparked a long thread about the Space Marine game. One of them was the SM pointing the bolt pistol to the CSM. Can anyone remember that thread?

Lovely CGI though.

EDIT: According to someone it is from the cancelled SM game. He also mentions it was a test run by the company.

Damn I thought it was a teaser for multiplayer I'm sad now. It was better than the gamescom trailer sorry Relic but it just was. Kantor didn't use his powerfist because he wanted to beat the traitor more.

But if thq isn't using it why did it get sent to kotaku four years later?

A CG trailer better than a in-game trailer? I'm shocked.

Has anyone actually discreditted the possibility of a multiplayer? If not, why would anyone discard such a nice trailer when it could become a brilliant ad for the multiplayer? SM vs CSM for red (word bearers) vs blue(crimson fists) games and hey orks and eldar in for FFA.

Plastic Wax did stills and the cinematic part of the E3 2009 trailer. Don't dismiss it yet just because the studio is Australian.

Aww its confirmed unrelated. Now I want finishing moves that beat the enemy to death with unactivated power fists.

It was confirmed unrelated when it was first posted last year! :p

too bad the SM didn't activate his power fist. The CSM would have been a bloody pulp.

awesome trailer, whats with the crinsom fists? considering they're using ultramarines.

Very cool trailer, the foot steps sounded too heavy and the gun that hit the ground sounded too light, but yeah, very neat.

Man that is exactly what I want to see in a battle between the SM and CS. You could feel the hatred and contempt the Crimson Fist had for the Word Bearer.
He did not want to just kill the Word Bearer. He wanted to execute him.

As already pointed it - this is unrelated to the Space Marine game. It's just a showreel the Plastic Wax studio made to show Games Workshop that they "understood" 40k, so that they could work on Warhammer 40k related CG projects.

This is probably the cinematic that convinced Games Workshop to allow them to make the intro cinematic for Dawn of War 2.

I loved the super loud footsteps XD

I know it was just a promo reel, but it seems odd that one would have an empty gun when preparing for an ambush...

Someone get Games Workshop the money to get Plastic Wax to make us a 40k movie.

well, considering the price of a lifetime collecting the models, im sure there are many with money they can burn via donating money to another, bigger budget movie..
