Worthplaying has posted up nine screenshots of DoW. Five of them are new though and worth a look. I am hoping that these screenshots are taken with the ingame camera because it really shows the zooming ability that this game has if it is.
Check them out here (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=16959&mode=thread&order=0). Also just a friendly reminder dont use any IMG tags cause showing said pics on this forum may be a copyright violation with GW.
Thanks and enjoy.

Hey SoulBlighter, I followed your link but can't see any screens. Do you have to be a member of the site to see them?? I just signed up in case you do, still waiting for registration email though.
Update: Yeah weird, I disabled Nortons Internet Security and now it works. They look awesome.

Most excellent thanks man i wonder what the little structure is wheres theyres like 8 space marines?
maybe its used to call down drop pods for units/buildings?

i would guess that structure is a strategic objective. it seems to be located on a bridge and has a spot for your banner to go if you capture it.

W00t!
Love the little pilot flames on the Ork flamethrowers...
Don't know if it's too late, but someone really needs to scale up the thighs on those Marines. And I don't if it's just the angle, but the Dreadnaughts kinda look a bit too small. I'm just nitpicking though, the games looking mighty nice.
Hmm after looking at some more screens the marine's thighs looked fine, it's just the closeup of the marine with the flamer where they look real skinny.
Also I noticed all the marines seem to be wearing Mk7 armour? Will there be any variation? Would be cool to have a few mk6 beakie guys and some Mk8 armour in there.

"Brothers, it has been decided that our daily physical exercises shall now include use of The Holy ThighMaster, designed by our most holy Emperor, to strenghen our bodies for combat, and to have more shapely thighs"
on an unrelated note, from looking at the screenies thus far, HtH combat is something you should be wary of, lest it suck in all your attention and you forget about the rest of the game. my fav of the bunch, the marine with his combat knife in both hands above his head, about to stab downward into an Orc.

Love that two-handed stab downward about to happen in shot 26. Melee combat looks like it's pretty detailed in terms of the animations.

Cinematic quality melee and ranged combat that show battle in detail never before seen in a real-time strategy game

Why wont it let me zoom in on pic Um... because they're screenshots, not the actual game?

I wonder how quickly battles will progress because that's a lot of detail and a lot of fighting. Definately Uber. There's a lot of detail put into the individual units with how they fight each other, as things like the marine about to stab that sword 2-handed down into his opponent, or the Orkiez ganging up to take down one of the Marine Boyz.

Yes, they are all the ingame camera.

Yes, the thing on the bridge is a Strategic Point.

Me too!

Well GW doesn't have a problem with them, so there ya go! :)

Wow! what better then to have a strategic point located on a bridge! i can see some awesume battles arising over bridges as they truly are strategic pts.

Since when do Orks have flamethrowers?
And how come we dont see any being fired in the shots? Or even any scorch marks from previous flamethrower shots.

See, that's a much better explanation of your problem compared to "why wont it let me zoom in on the pic?". You really shouldn't be ascerbic over the answer you got, because you were really vague to begin with.

I can't open the thumbs to view the screenies.
If I right click open in New Window all I get is a blank "javascript:popUp('press/131/warhammer_dow_28.jpg')" message and if I Left click on the images all I get is a very tiny window that opens on the top left hand side of the screen then it disappears with in .1 of a second and nothing happens.
Tried the Ctrl Double Click but nothin'.
:argh:
Thanks CeeJay :talk:

Yeah, I was getting that problem too - are you running a Mozilla browser by any chance?
Hence the mirroring! :) Glad it helped.

I really love the little shot of the marine who's about to knife the orc with both hands right in his head or back. :D All I hope is that battles don't go too fast. I like to watch the action. :agree: I think i'm also going to cry the first time I see some terminators absolutely annhilating something.

If you can't get the thumbs to open try disabling any anti popup software you may have.

Usually required by "popup blockers" to open a new window that would normally be blocked.
FYI.. we have mirrored all the available screenies over at WH40K:DoWP (http://wh40k.mednickonline.com), drop by and sneak a peek at all of them in one place!

As orks grow older they get bigger, stronger and their skin darkens. Most orks are the same sizes as marines and an ork warboss with mega armor could easily be larger than a marine.

Those look great. And yes, orks can be as big or bigger than a marine. In Warhammer, your ego=your size.
*whoops...my apologies to the diminutive eldar...*
And if you look at one of the pictures, you can see some orks displaying a bunch of impressive DAKKA...at about a 90 degree angle.

I might have the first critisim of DOW, but I think the objective in the screen shot 27 should not be put in the middle of a road. I know that it is probably there to insure that the object can be approached from any direction, but it would look a lot better in a ruined building. I hope that the objectives are placed somewhere where it looks natural, but it makes it hard to fortify the objective.

I thought the Orks were shorter then regular humies because they stoop most of the time. If they stood up, they were taller. Someone mentioned growing over time, that might make them as tall as Space Marines eventually.
