View Full Version : When is Fall?

Being that I don't live in the US, when is Fall? I notice that all US developers use a season based release date.
Why not say:
Planned for release sometime between May-Jul 04 or whatever.

It's mostly a estimated time window. It's a general range. Like many other companies, they don't want to make it too specific or people might be holding on to false hopes and start complaining based on the misinformation.

I understand what your saying, but why not say the actual Month(s) rather than 'Fall' (which is a Month(s)).
Just found out that your Fall (Autum) is during my Spring. It's just a pet pev I have with timings. The majority of people put down a time that corresponds to their location EG Time timings like 5pm EST (When is EST? Why not use GMT). Since the net is Worldwide, it would be nice if they stuck to a Worldwide standard.
I'm going to stop complaining. Thanks for the info guys.

that's true. Saying Quarter 3/ Third Quarter of the year would probably work too.

Just in time for the holiday season - nice marketing plan.. how many will have this on their Christmas list? Not to distract but several other titles are also scheduled to be released around that time frame: Dungeon Siege II, Everquest II, Half-Life II, Black & White II, Matrix Online, Inquisition, Vampire: Bloodlines, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Zoo Tycoon II, Dungeon Lords, etc. etc. What to choose!?!? :(

o...k...
I'm actually looking forward to Black & White 2. I enjoyed the first one (by largely ignoring my creature), but the flaws which made most consider the game a flop are fixed. Namely, your villages can take care of themselves better, Good can win while staying good, and you now get accurate training feedback, so you know what your creature will be learning as you train it.
Plus armies!
Jerbs, they say "Fall" because if they say "sometime between september and january" then come sept 1 they'll be inundated with idiots demanding to know why it isn't out yet.

By stating fall they mean anywhere inbetween September-November because that is the fall season in NA and Relic is a Canadian based company.

Starting a flamewar is not a smart thing to do on these forums. Anyway, back on topic, I prefer Q3 2004 as more politically correct.

I don't know Jerbs, you get used to it.
I'm Scottish and hence will happily use scots terms and dont feel the need to conform to the majority user, i know most users here are North American, but i wouldn't refrain from using GMT time in my own posts and let them all work it out. Or saying Autumn, or calling a Flat a Flat whether its rented (apartment) or owned (condo), 1st floor when i mean the 1st floor (ground floor), my Fringe is not my bangs i thank you very much, I will go to the offy (scots) not the Off License/Off Sales (english) nor the Liquor Store (american)and neither to the bottle shop (ozzie)... i could go on and on... :)
I actually quite like it, its a multicultural experience here and you should enjoy it (ie laugh as an american tries to buy a 'rubber' in a chemist's only to be sent to the nearest whsmiths. Then laugh again as they complain they didnt get that last statement.)
Its the world wide web after all, and its dominated by our American Cousins, if all net users throughout the world got to vote in a democratic vote on standards it would become the world-wide-USA overnight! So stop complaining lest they get ideas! :)
You pick it up, here and there and before you know it you'll instinctively know that PST is GMT-8 or EST is GMT-5 not to be confused with AST(GMT-4, which also has no DST as far as I know)...
jist ma wee bit.

Any 1 Know What The Inquistor Game That Was Brout Up Was All About ????
Uzgah
5th Apr 04, 12:46 PM
Inquistor was just Necromunda with biggar more expensive models and a biggar rulebook. There was no RP'ing in it at all. Me and my friends tried... gave up went back to AD%D, a system that works.
Just my own opinion. I thought it was terrible other enjoyed it. I just couldn't see why, heh the local GW manager banned from the store for 3 weeks cuase I viewed my opinions once. He was an goit though...
