View Full Version : Photo Reference Library, a declaration of intent.

As the title says and suggests, I intend to start gathering photos, not from the internet mind you, but actually take photos, to start a library of reference images to aid in the hobby we've gathered here to participate in.

A task of this type obviously is fairly large and I would like to ask for help as well, requesting that references that are added are done with decent clarity and resolution, as well as source information.

As this thread gathers references, they will become organized and separated, so please keep off topic discussion posts to a minimum or another thread.

I hope to begin soon, and will update in successive posts as it continues.

What we are looking for.
At this time, everything, from oil stained garage floors to dried paint. The references should be applicable to not just painting, but modeling.
For example: snow drifts, icy roads, partial melts, hot items in snow, etc, all have a place. Multiple angles are appreciated.

Great Idea.

2 questions:

1. Is it supposed only to be photos taken by us or photos we use as reference?
2. why have you posted this in tutorials?

Preferably ones you take yourself, to guarantee quality and reference, but any high quality photo should work.
It's in tutorials because I thought it would fit here, it is going to be composed of "how do I make this look right?" Images.
