Anyone remember the Raiden type arcade games were you had this little fighter and gobs of ammo and all you had to do was hold down the "fire!" button and blow crap up? I'd love to see a newer version of the same type of game, with really impressive weapon effects. I'd pay good money for it too.
Would you?

Worth the full version purchase IMO.

I LOVE that game! A whole flurry of little thunder balls and bullets flying at you from all directions, and suddenly, in a gargantuant kablooey, you launch your secondary bomb! It'z called overkill, but I love it!
I misinterpreted the title of this thread, so I'll post what I was going to post
I think they oughtta make more stealthy isometric view games like Metal Gear Soid, but for PC, my only resource.

There's an old DOS game called Tyrian made around '94, I think. While I haven't played the monkey game Squid linked, I have a feeling they're similar. The game puts you in command of a heavily armed ship which you see from a top-down view. It has all kinds of weapons of mass destruction and the imfamous secondary bomb which is, of course, uber-fun overkill. Enemies swarm at you from all directions. You can even play with a buddy if you have both a mouse and a keyboard (wtf). Lots of fun. Use Google for details.
Again, I'm not sure if this is the kind of game you're looking for. I apologize in advance if this is the case. :hmm:
I absolutely love those types of games

Side-scroller, top-down -- same thing, just different graphics.
I used to hate those games when I was younger, but now the nostalgia occasionally tugs at me . . .

Well, they brought back Sinistar...
Sort of the same idea from what I remember...

Truxton. I remember when I was 11 putting a ruinous amout of quarters into that badboy.

Um.. the Thief series? It was all about stealth.. I played the first about halfway through but I got sick of not being able to hide anymore.. or maybe it was the gradual shift away from "stealing from things from people" towards "stealing things from monsters" that got me bummed.

I'd like to see the old fashioned adventure games back. Not the pont and click ones being too easy but the ones before that, where you had to type in the commands. Those were a lot harder cause you couldn't just click on everything and see if something happened.

Not really, that is atekst adventure, what i mean arte those good oldfashioned sierra adventures like space quest 1-3, police quest 1-3 all the quests before the point and click interface ruined them all :)

You mean like Zork style? If that's what you mean then a 3rd generation Text Adventure game would probably have a super advanced AI capable of interpreting like a billion commands and with millions of possible endings. I'd love a game like that.

ya, I want a VR version of Pong. Where you wear the funkeh suit 'n everything. But you play the part of the ball, not one of the players. Kinda therepeutic just getting batted about the place in a lazy fashion........
BADONG...........BADONK.......BADONG.... yeah, well you get the idea.
