Can't get mods to work in DowII/CR

So recently decided to reinstall Dawn of war II + Chaos rising to try out several mods and i noticed that they don't work anymore


This is what i did.
I created a Dow2II shortcut on my desktop and added ' -Dev -Modname' to the target line, yet it seems that the game doesn't start from the shortcut as nothing ingame is changed.

Does anyone knows a solution?

what mods are you using? some mods that seem recent are dormant or dead and arent compatible with 2.6 chaos rising

The Mod i'm trying to get to work is said to be compatible with CR 2.6,

It might help to say that i'm using Windows 7 X64.

well the real shortcut is -dev -mod "modname", thats what i do and it works

again No luck, just seems like the game doesn't start through the shortcut.

Dawn of War II,
"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 15620 -dev -modname SquadMod

Chaos Rising,
"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 20570 -dev -modname SquadMod
