in max should be a editable mesh for export with skin on top
in game its a .model file for testing and a released game packed to an sga
check your shaders its almost always them when you get nothing in the model editor.
santos has a readme instruction along with his tools, should explain how to export stuff

There can be several reasons for mesh to be invisible in Model Editor. Please check if you have shader files extracted into correct directory. There might be also some errors reported when opening Model Editor or loading your model, which you can find in the log file. Make sure you have at least one mesh selector defined as well.

Send the model over, I'll give it a quick look over and let you know where you may be going wrong.

A good rule of thumb is: Never delete anything.... if you can help it. An error down the road can always be fixed later when you have the know how and experience to fix it and you'll release it wasn't so bad.
If you can, move on to make something else so you aren't slowed down and wasting time being stumped on something. I've seen some people get disheartened and just give up in my earlier teaching people days because they couldnt fix an error that stopped them in their tracks. Modelling isn't like wood, once you screw it up. Its flexible and fluid. You can improve things later.
